Default How I fell from grace.

I htought it was better to share with you all.

I had an awful week, tests in school, too much stress, my father in law in the hospital. My mentor is the sweetest person and has helped me a lot but still, I failed.
I started on wednesady with some dark chocolate, the same on thursday, the same on friday...and since I was into it I had some wasa too.
And the same again yesterday...
I dont know what is happening here, Im so tired I have been sleeping around 18 hours a day this weekend. Needless to say I dont do any exercise for 3 days.
It is not like I have given it up. I dont touch bread or pasta or anything, yesterday I made Thai food for my bf and I just had some meat and vegetables.
Im tired, I feel lost and I wish I could just sleep for months.
Has this happened to any of you?
I want to start again tomorrow, go back to my good habits, my food, water and exercise. But again, when I really think about it I wonder if I will manage as much as to get out of bed...

Could you be fighting off a flu? Is it TOM time? It might be a good idea to talk to your doctor if you are sleeping 18 hours a day and if it goes on more than a few days.

Hang in there with the eating...remember that chocolate is not going to cure you of anything and neither will other 'bad' carbs. In the grand scheme of things a Wasa is not the worst thing you could have chosen, so I wouldn't beat yourself up about that.

I had an immense amount of stress in my life last August and I found that Atkins gave me a solid foundation because I didn't have to think about what I could eat. It's all laid out for me and I had that stability in my life. I knew it would stand by me to eat properly, and that going off plan would just add to my stress, and lord knows, I didn't need that!

Let us know how it goes with your doctor.

I think it's happened to ALL of us. Two things I've always found that get me out of a funk (or at least help), especially post-cheat: water water and more water and exercise exercise and more exercise. They feel especially good and cleasing and help you get right back on track.

I agree with Moochie. I had a lot of problems rise up the past year. I had family problems, health problems and financial problems. The one thing that I could depend on even though my world seemed to be falling apart was this WOE. It didn't take away the issues in my life, but it helped me to know that I had control of what I ate. I knew that as long as I took care of myself I could find solutions for my problems. Things finally started getting back on track and I am so proud of myself for not caving in when it would have been so easy. I did let my exercise slack off but I didn't cheat on my WOE and I believe that made it easier to jump back into my action plan.

Stress happens to us all. Make a plan of action to give you options when you are feeling blue and overwhelmed. This is a life-style change, so we need to make plans for what we need to do when things aren't always up as well as when they are running smoothly. Thank goodness we have the ADBB and can always come here for motivation. HUGS to you. Don't look back....go forward!!

Hi Eleonore,

It sounds like you've hit the nail on the head, stress ... it's amazing how much it can zap your energy!

The first thing a lot of people do when stressed is stop doing what they know makes them feel better, working out/eating right ... I think you're on the right path though.

Take care, and hopefully things will settle down for you soon.

You have had a lot going on to stress you. Just take a step back, relax, look at things rationally and take a deep breath. Get yourself back in the right frame of mind and back on track - you'll feel better for it.

Hugs,

I hope you are starting to feel better after reading these posts. You are not alone. We are here with you. We all have had some of these experiences. Like they said...Pick yourself up...drink your water....make yourself exercise even if you don't want to( you will feel better after and it will give you energy). Don't wait for tomorrow....start now. It doesn't matter what youv'e already eaten...just get back on the wagon. It easy to keep saying I will do it tomorrow. With me, tomorrow took forever to come. Take care of yourself. Love yourself.

Stress happens to all of us, at one time or another. It's part of living. It's how we deal with the stress that is important, not just give into it. I tend to handle it by doing an extra strenuouos workout, or take a long walk, or even just take the phone and call a close friend out-of-town. Takes my mind of the pressures, and before too long, I overcome that yucky feeling. Just move forward, and forget about the chocolate, it's a done deal! And take care of YOU!

Default Re: How I fell from grace.

you can do it your Dr bRAIN KNOWS THAT chocolate has lots of pharmacological props and can make you feel mellowed out and less stresed so it told you to have some and you did so. you can eat low carb home made chocolate like cream cheese mixed with cocoa powder and a sweetner and be Atkins leagal and get those brain checms too.

COme back from the dark side and backaway from the carbs your energy level will go up and you will feel beeter even if the stress is still there.

if you are tired Dr Atkins says to eat more food. Have you moved to OWL if not try the first rung with more veggies and see how much better your feel.

you can do this
