Ranch dressing? (not really Atkins related, sorry)

Sorry for being 'off-topic'. I've attempted to look this up with no luck.

I have a few friends online who live in other countries (Australia and New Zealand are two of them) and these friends have never heard of ranch dressing! I know it's VERY popular in the US so I was surprised to hear that they didn't even know what it is.

So, to get to my question, does ranch have another name in other parts of the world?

not that I know of ..but I could be wrong I think Ranch is the only name for it
