| BMR or Basal Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy your body needs to minimally function or live (for example if you were in a coma, the energy your body is using to keep your heart pumping, brain functioning, maintaining your body heat, etc. is the BMR). AMR or Active Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy your body needs to sustain activity above your BMR. That can vary day to day.
