How about some more details? Are you male or female? How tall are you? How much are you exercising? Are you drinking enough water? It could be that you are eating too many calories. This isn't a calorie counting program, but you should be eating just enough to be satisfied, not stuffed. 1 lb of meat at one sitting does seem like a lot. Why don't you show us your menus for the last few days and maybe we can figure out if it's that or something else.

It has always been my secret theory that too much hamburger has caused me to stall as well. Sometimes I'll go meat crazy and eat nearly that much in a day and I'll have problems making any progress for the next few days. I'm not sure if there is any science behind it, but it has been my experience.

Are you eating to satisfy your hunger or are you eating to satisfy your appetite?

It's very possible to over-eat your Atkins foods, especially if you are an over-eater.

Remember too that Dr. Atkins said that excessive protein is converted to sugar by your body and whatever sugar you do not immediately use is stored as fat.

That's probably it! I have to restrain myself with the ground beef as well and limit myself to one burger at a time. I don't know if it's the ground beef per se or if it's just one of those "can't stop eating it" foods and we need to stop eating it before we overeat.

16 ozs of lean cooked ground beef has around 1000 calories, 16 ozs if weighed cooked has almost 1200!

Don't forget as you lose weight your BMR and AMR changes, because the smaller your body gets the less calories it needs. Even though this is not a calorie counting plan, it is important that you watch your portions and are eating just until satisfied, not until stuffed as mentioned above.

I have started eating ground turkey. It is really good and has less fat and calories. My husband, son, and I all love the taste. I make taco meat out of it as well as hamburger patties and all kinds of good stuff. My favorite is turkey taco salad with sour cream and salsa! YUM!

EXCELLENT RESPONSE! RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

You can eat more if you are burning more calories through rigorous exercise. I am very tiny, but I run upwards of 40 miles a week which gives me alot of latitude with my calories (another IMPORTANT reason to exercise!) I can easily eat a 16 oz prime rib, salad, veggies a couple of times a week without gaining ANYTHING.
