The next time you get a sugar craving eat something high fat or a high fat-high protein combo like a devilled egg or cheese. The more you do that the more you'll train yourself to kick the sweets habit. I don't know how far you live from the store, but you can also make a deal with yourself: if you get a sweet craving, you need to walk to the store to buy it and walk back.

| Megs is right - if you can forgo even the 3 allowed servings of sweetener and substitute something that isnt sweet instead you will start to retrain your sugar monster to make do with what YOU decide to feed it, not what it is begging for!! Some people find that having something like a pickle kills the cravings quickly. Make sure you have plenty of 'legal' snacks available so you dont need to go and buy something offplan!!

| For me, its been easier if I just break the habit cold-turkey. I don't allow myself to substitute something sweet with an accpetable sweetner or give in. It is hard at first, but as with all bad habits, after you practice it for a while, it gets easier. Do whatever it takes, writing about it in your journal, taking a long walk to get it off your mind, calling a weight loss advocate, going to ADBB for friendship and strength or drinking lots of water that you no longer want to eat it. We all have our weaknesses when it comes to certain foods, but with determination and a plan to succeed, we can overcome them and move forward towards our goals.
