| I use eggbeaters. They're just fine, but so are real eggs. Eggs have considerably more fat in them and during induction that's a good thing. Eggbeaters have next to no fat in them and are high in protein. If it doesn't throw your ratios off, you're just fine

| From a Dukes University (I think) study analysing the induction menus in DANDD a ratio of 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs was suggested

| Great. Thanks. I (re)looked at my menu and did some changes. I was able to get 20g and get my calories up ( I was unable to get it above 1000) Now: My rations are 68% fat, 27% protein, and 5% carbs at 1455 calories using eggbeaters. My rations are 71% fat, 24% protein, and 4% carbs at 1633 calories using eggs. Do you think it's best if I use the whole eggs to get my calories up?? THanks |

| I feel fuller and more satisfied if I use real eggs. Eggbeaters are just like eating only the whites and that isn't filling at all. I've been eating 3 eggs every morning for induction. Now that I am nearing the end, I've noticed that I can back off by an egg and still feel good. So I'm eating 2 eggs at breakfast instead of the 3 I needed in induction. Hope that helps.

| I use Eggbeaters in shakes, or if I am making a low-carb cookie dough treat. But in the rare case I'm whipping up scrambled eggs (I'm really not an egg person), I'll use the real deal.

| Um, I'm missing something here. The only eggbeaters I know of are the devices you use to whip eggs into froth with. Somebody please explain!

| http://www.eggbeaters.com/index.jsp It looks as if they are egg whites with added nutrients that normally would be in the yolks! Quote:
I suppose for people not able to store real eggs they would have a place, maybe if you were on the move and had no proper kitchen, but I think I'll stick to the real unprocessed thing!

| Striek me pink! What a dreadful thing to do to a nice egg! And eggs really are an almost perfect food. I'll be sticking to the real thing too, Elizellen!
