| Could be new muscle... depending on how active he was before. Did he lose inches at all? I have no experience with Hydroxycut, I avoid pills and the like. But I have had guy friends who liked the stuff.

| Any time you start up a new physical activity, your muscles will retain water as a protective mechanism until it figures out that the new stress is the norm. Any time I start up or switch up my routine I can count on a 2-4lb gain that'll stick with me for generally 2-3 weeks. It's transient. Odds are he's starting to lose inches. He'd do that just fine without the garbage pills. ~Brook
