Default Ever have an "eating nightmare"?

Have any of you ever had a dream (I consider it a nightmare) of breaking your diet/going off this WOE?

I have had this phenomena occur before - but never so early in my diet. I am now on day 9 of a clean induction after 4 years of struggling and I have been so greatful for the "moment of clarity" that brought me to doing this WOL strictly by the book. I don't think I would cheat right now or skip a day of exercising if my life depended on it, I feel that strongly committed.

And yet, last night I had a dream (nightmare) that I went to well known ice-cream franchise with a friend. My friend ordered a hot fudge sundae. I have pretty good will power these days - like I said, I feel very committed. But my "dream-self" was overcome with cravings like I have never experienced before. I wanted ice-cream. I wanted hot fudge. And NOTHING was going to stand in my way.

My "dream friend" even tried to tell me not to do it. I vauguely remembered that I was "on some diet" but I didn't care. I ordered a hot fudge sundae, telling the person behind the counter to go heavy on the hot fudge. I brought my mound of sugary end-game to the table (I swear, in retrospect, it wasn't even appetizing) and I started shovelling it in my mouth.

Thats when I woke up - movie style. Sitting straight up in my bed, and looking desperately around me to push away the sundae. I was so upset with myself. And slowly but surely, I realized...there's no sundae, there's no reason to be upset.

But best of all, there were NO cravings. EVERYTHING, even the craving, had all been a complete fabrication of the mind. I am on day 9 of a clean induction! My subconcious can play all the games it wants - my concious mind is in charge now!

Others have said this has happened to them. It's part of the withdrawal from carbs, I guess. Good for you showing that subconcious who's the boss! lol

Yeah, I got them every now and then for the first month or two, but they went away as I got used to not eating craptastic food.

You did? I didn't even look, I'm sorry. I was short on time and just wanted to share this experience, as it was rolling around in the back of my mind. Otherwise, I would have just added this to your thread.

No biggie. I actually have them about 3 times/week, especially the past few weeks. Awfully depressing and REAL, aren't they?

Oh, Yeah!

So often it seems to happen to me when I've earlier had to resist something. It happens less and less frequently now, though, as those cravings get rarer and rarer.

About week 2 of induction it started when I'd brought home a jelly doughnut from work for my son. That night he was stuffing my face with them all night in my dream.
I guess when you quit something, you have dreams about it for some time, whether tobacco, drugs, or carbs.

SO real! In fact, every now and then I have to remind myself it was just a dream. But what strikes me about this dream - and also makes me feel very optimistic, is that I have no desire whatsover to break this WOE or even have the temptation to. Even though it was such a strong impulse in the dream, none of it carried over to real life.

The bright side of it is in your sleep you can pig out all night on all the forbidden food, see it, taste it & smell it, then wake up still in ketosis!
