Default Hello everyone

Hi all,
This is my second stint at Atkins. The first time (4 years ago)i had amazing success, lost 40 pounds in only a few months. Everything was fine untill i stopped smoking six months ago ( heavy smoker 30 years) and put on over 30 pounds . I figured it was more important to stop smoking than worry about my weight gain, i can allways loss the weight right ! Well here i am 7 weeks into a clean induction and i havent lost any weight and i still measure the same I read the posts on some people believing this is a one shot deal, im thinking that way now. Im so frustrated and feeling like giving up. Please someone tell me its worth sticking with this, im really trying to get the motivation to carry on.
Thanks.

I find it strange that you havent lost any weight and you've done a clean induction for 7 weeks. Are you able to post a typical day's menu? Are you drinking at least 2 litres of water a day? What exercise do you do? Have you taken measurements of your body and see if you are losing inches instead of pounds? Sorry for all the questions but it might help someone on here more better as this than me to decipher whats going on!

Well done on giving up the smoking

What AngelStar said! Definitely post what you are eating, what your exercise is, and what your water consumption is. I'm sure one of the Mods can offer you better advice!

A big congratulations on quitting smoking. That is excellent!

Sure does make me wonder, I totally understand you must be going crazy over this, but let me asure you it deffinitely can be done, I started Atkins when I just quit smoking (2 weeks after) and I sure did lose quite some.
Indeed do inform us on what your typical day of eating looks like, so we can help you tweaking it in such a way that you will start losing.
It seems the second time around is harder, but it shouldn't be THIS hard !
Welcome aboard and let's get this going !!!!!

Thanks everyone for the replys.
I workout (light weights) about 20mins a day. A typical day's food for me is this...
Breakfast - 2 eggs 3 strips bacon and Decaff coffee with 1 pkt splenda, cream.
Lunch - Burger, cup lettuce and sprinkle of blue cheese, with a tbl 0 carb dressing.
Dinner - 6 ounce steak, 2-4 onces cheese, cup lettuce and cup tomatoes.
I drink water the entire day, so no problem with water intake. Thats basically a normal day for me.
Hope that helps. Thanks again.

Wow. Looks okay. You could add a few more veggies (variety). How about some cardio? Any walking?

Hey Jambo56,

I hear ya...I went through that a few years ago when I tried Atkins...but. It does work! Believe me.
You seem to have a resistance, so you may want to add more of the salad green leafy veggies, cucumbers etc. and add a Cardio exercise that would last up to 45 minutes of intensity. (really work up a good sweat) I have found that when I added more "aerobic" type of exercise and eat small healthy snacks in between the meals the weight dropped off more quickly. Think of your body like a furnace...it needs small amounts of fuel throughout the day to keep it going. Your metabolism is just like that.
I hope that encourages you! Any other advice

Don't Give UP!! It Works!!!!
