Default Oh Glorious Day! Thank You ADBB!!!!

I was so nervous this morning.

This morning began Day 15 of being back on the Atkins WOL, and as we all know, Day 15 is the first day you *should* weigh yourself after starting induction. I won't go into my long story of being on and off diets (including Atkins) over and over with unsuccessful results. Needless to say, 15 days ago I was sick of it, and I decided to do induction clean!

That meant no finding loopholes in the low-carb lifestyle with Atkins bars & shakes, no gorging on cheese and nuts, and no eating until I was stuffed. I took supplements (multi-vitamin & essential fatty acids) I started to exercise (30 minutes of quick-paced walking a day), and of course, dropped my carb intake from God knows where to 20 grams.

And of course, I came to this board almost everyday.

I didn't always write, but when I did, the responses were so supportive, so motivating, so inspiring, that it almost made it easy to sum up will power and press on each day. The Atkins books talk about the Atkins WOL being a three-legged stool with diet, exercise, & supplements being the three legs. But if I may be so bold to say that the Atkins WOL *should* be considered a 4 leg stool, with that 4th leg being the crucial, weight bearing leg, the one that lends the most support. And by support I mean (duh) THIS AWESOME BB!!!

Back to my story. So I wrapped up Day 14 - father's day, at a bbq. I ate wonderful bbqued chicken, beef & turkey burgers, and salad - no buns, cakes, ice cream, or anything like that. And this bbq was off the charts with sugar, let me tell you. It was as if I had made it through 13 long Induction Days, only to face "THE FINAL CHALLENGE" Well, people, I passed!

But I was still nervous when I woke up this morning, facing the unknown number the scale had for me. What if, besides my clothes feeling looser, and my outlook being brighter - What if the scale didn't move at all?? The thing is, we all talk about how the scale isn't accurate, how inches matter more than pounds, and the scale should be taken with as much grains of salt as Keto-sticks. Yet, deep down, we all need to see that scale move - especially in the begining, to give us that clear, undisputed proof, that we have lost weight.

And so, this morning I stepped on the scale, and looked down hoping that no matter what, I would be fine with what I saw.

And wow, was I ever!

SIX POUNDS!

I know it doesn't seem like alot when compared to some of the huge Induction losses reported on this BB, but for me - its more than 10% of the weight I needed to lose! All I needed to see was the scale move in the right direction just to affirm what I already knew. That its working! That I'm losing! That I am becoming healthier, fitter, thinner, feeling better!

And to think...this is just the begining. The tip o' the ice-berg. This is, after all, a WOL, and Induction is only "the first two weeks of the rest of your life".

So its "onwards and outwards!", 6 pounds down, 34 to go, and I'll be here for every last one of them!!

Your friend,
FBB

That's so awesome! Congratulations on the -6 pounds!!!

I love that you stuck to Induction, even made it through the weekend bbq's without a hitch, didn't weight yourself until day 15, exercised like Dr. A. said to, and most of all you succeeded in losing 6 pounds and saw it as it is...a wonderful accomplishment!!!

Best wishes on the rest of your journey

6 pounds is awesome!!! What's that, like 20% of what you have to lose?! (I'm mathematically challenged). Excellent job! Especially good for you on passing the Final Challenge. Too bad there are no prizes, eh? Well, no one will vote you off the island or kick you out of the ADBB house. lol I'm proud of you. Great post for a Monday morning.

Ooo... 6 POUNDS!!

I second the rockin banana! He's definitely in order!

That is a great induction loss. Remember how much better you feel already! That'll help push you through when the scales slow down a little.

But you're doing great!

Good for you!

6 pounds is a terrific start to your weight loss journey. So are you going to stay on Induction a bit more or are you going to move over to OWL?
