Default What to take to the beach?

Inspire me, please

We're going to the beach next month, and I really want to stay as true to this WOE as possible. I don't think dinner will be a problem--plenty of crab legs, and broiled fish.

But, I'm concerned about lunch and snacks. There will be a lot of non-Atkins friendly snacks for the kids and my husband, and I want to keep my resistance high to them. Does anyone have any tried and true snacky type foods that I could either make ahead or make in a small time frame?

Thanks guys! I've found so much information in my one week here on the board, and I know that this has been such an impetus to my weight loss.

You are taking a cooler I presume?
I used to take egg salad in tupperware containers, or tuna salad. (Used to bring a loaf of bread too, but, well, leave that at home! LOL)
You can take baggies of cut up veggies, sliced pepperoni and cheese. Pickles. Hard boiled eggs.....
I am getting hungry again!!

You'll probably be making sandwiches for the rest of the family...make some for yourself too. For yours, get a head of loose leaf lettuce, spread mayo, mustard right on the lettuce leaves, put cheese, turkey, ham, ham salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, roast beef, salami, capicola, sliced pork...whatever...and tomato...salt and pepper and fold it up or roll it up and eat. I swear I like it better than with bread--you get all the flavors of the fillings. I eat this often from the deli-bar where I work.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!

I went to Restaurants.com and found dining certificates for an awesome crab leg place, as well as a family buffett, so I've got those 2 dinners down

I've c&p parts of this thread and will be printing it out tonight!

I wish I had a Trader Joe's near me. I found one last week in Boston, and they had the best almonds I have had in a while. Back on topic, I have always been a fan of bringing nuts (if you are in E.I. or beyond), summer sausage - keeps forever and doesn't need to be refrigerated until opened, and good cheese from a cheese store. Veggies with guacomole dip is also a good suggestion. I bring lots of water of with me, but in the end, I found out that I snack less than I used to and play more.
