| Firstly, get to your dr straight away about the marks on your body! Secondly, learn from your mistakes and start afresh. I dont necessarily mean start from the begining, but carry on where you left off. The golden rule I follow is that I'm not substituting my old diet for a new version. You have to eliminate the cravings for anything sweet, so throw out your sweetners. You do NOT need them! You may be fooled to think you do, and the first couple of days may be murderous without them, but it's the best thing for you and your body. Thirdly, my PERSONAL opinion about painkillers is ignore the ingredients. I'm strict as I can be most of the time, but when it comes to pain relief and medication, those ARE necessities, and I very much doubt that the amount of aspartame in them is enough to do any damage to you, unless you're munching on them all day, every day (which you shouldnt be, anyway!) You didnt have much weight to lose in the first place, judging from your stats in your signature, so you WILL lose slower, and possibly will get bored. I'd suggest just moving into OWL. Just make sure that you realise that this is supposed to be a change on your way of life and your way of eating - you have to find a means of eating that will suit you for the unforeseeable future, not just until you reach your goal weight. Even if you lose slower, being happier with what you're eating and not getting bored will do you much more good than losing a couple of pounds. You've come so far, don't give up yet!

| Let us know what those marks are when you get back. At one time I was getting pinpoint sized dots on my feet and found out I had an aspirin sensitivity. I didn't know what it was and was really worried and after a second attempt to find something on the internet I was finally successful. Stopped the aspirin and they went away.

| You have to realise that the most successful people are the ones that have failed, or messed up the most. Sucess is built on a mountain of stuff ups. Not one person here is perfect. Dr. Atkins even gave advice for when you fall off the wagon in a serious way (get back in induction). Not the thing with the sweetner - fuggedaboutit! That was such a small slip up. Go straight into OWL - I don't think it will matter! DON'T GIVE UP!

| I had purple bruises when I firt started the diet and lost hair. The brusises were explained to me by my doctor, but I forgot his reasoning now, sorry. It wasn't anything to worry about. I would still check with your Dr. though. The hair loss is normal. Anytime your body goes through a stressful event (weight loss, child birth, medical condition(heart attack, stroke)) hair loss is normal for a few months. You can ask your doctor about this too. You are doing fine.

| As for the hair loss, I actually used to lose a lot of my hair before I started atkins, but since I've started last October, it's reverted, and now I barely lose any! Which is a godsend lol. It was terrible before - I'd avoid washing my hair because it was such a polava with hundreds of strands falling out! I believe it's normal, but your dr may as well give you advice when you ask him or her about your bruises. Let us know what happens!

| Thanks everyone for your support! I have an appointment with my Dr tomorrow I will let you all know what she says. The marks have spread to my hands and I have one on my face this evening???? I am getting really worried. My MIL seems to have become a doctor and thinks its because my body isnt getting enough carbs & now DH is nagging me to get off Atkins....... I am going to stick to Atkins even though I mess up and get discouraged and I especially dont care what my MIL thinks...lol I am thinking this is an allergy, I recently added mixed pickled mushrooms to my diet, alot of which I've never eaten before.... and looking at my fitday day journal, these marks started appearing about two days after I started eating the mushrooms for the first time or it could be the sweetener, as I've never in my life used a sweetener? I just hope my Dr is not going to be agains my woe as that will only make things worse with DH.... I will let you all know what happens tomorrow, thanks for your concern and support., Daphne xxx
