Default I cheated!

I have been on Atkins since the beginning of July and as of today I have lost 12lbs. I have been under a lot of stress. My husband has been deployed since March 6 and 2 months ago before he was supposed to go to Afganistan, he got real sick. They sent him to Georgia where there is supposed to be the best military neurologist there is. His vessels in his brain are filled with fluid and they are 3 times the size of ours! He had a spinal tap last week and they pulled 32CC of fluid and now he feels a lot better. I am happy for that, but if his next spinal tap comes back normal he will have to go to Afganistan. I was really stressed out last night so when I took our 3 year old to McDonald's, I also got a kid's hamburger happy meal. I felt horriable after eating that crap. The scale, however, said that I lost 2 lbs. since the last time I weighed 2 days ago. Although I probably didn't gain anything, it was the way I felt. Anyway, today is a new day and I am back on track. We got some money together and my husband is flying home to see us for a few days! So maybe, the next break down I have I will be able to handle it a little better than with a happy meal.

You have confessed So just pick yourself up and move past it. That does sound like a lot of stress, but you have recognized how the poor choice made you feel, which will in turn help you resist the next time.

Good luck to you and your family. I hope all turns out okay!

All my best to you and yours....try your best to stay strong...but if you fall off for a momentary lapse...dont beat yourself up too badly about it...do as everyone says...just make note of it and keep on trucking.....while obviously the point is to not have any lapses...i think its better to have a small lapse than get so frustrated that you throw in the towel all the way and undo all the good youve accomplished so far. Life is hard....being a military spouse is hard.....youre doing a great job thus far....

Totally agree. U've recognised how cr*p the food made you feel which will hopefully make not want to go back to ur old habits. You've confesssed too and ur back on track. Just keep going, hopefully ur body wont have gained much by ur next weigh in.

Keep going, I can imagine how stressed you are. Take some time out for urself, have a nice hot soak in the bath with some candles or go on a nice walk or read a book. I'm glad to hear ur partners health is better

You lapsed in a moment of stress... Now it's in the past. Great that you got straight back on track! Great that you recognised how the lapse made you feel, which will help you avoid falling off the wagon in the future.

Here's to your continuing with this great and healthy WOE, your success, and to your other problems getting resolved in the best way possible!

Default Re: I cheated!

First off.......the next time you speak with your husband, tell him 'Thank You' as one veteran to another. These poor guys are taking so much flack these days, that we forget to say thank you.

Secondly, you slipped, okay. Now come back 10 times harder. You can do it!! We are all here because of the same problem. Sometimes you need a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on, just think about that next time you want to slip!!

Good Luck!
