Hello! I lost 27 pounds in roughly 11 months. Your success depends on your own unique metabolic rate, your commitment to Atkins and SERIOUS EXERCISE.

It took me 5 months to lose 22 pounds and 7 1/2 months to lose the 27 lbs I am up to now. No matter how long it takes you every day is just one more step to a new healthier you.

It is a very individual thing it will depend on how "good" you are and how much you exercise. I lost 22 pounds in about 1 1/2 months the first time I did this, and 100 pounds in a little ofer 6 months but I had alot of weight to lose. Good luck and remember that this is not something that you can do as a quick fix it must be a change to your lifestyle.

Talking Re: New to Atkins.. How much will it take to lose 22 pounds?

Hi Suzan!

I've no idea of how long this pace will continue, but it seems like I'm around the ten pounds a month mark. I'm adamant about lots of exercise and clean eating, which probably plays a part--to which degree, I've no idea.

I'm aiming to lose around 20 pounds, too, (I'm going more for a "stop when I like how I look" rather than "stop when the scales or calipers say a certain number" approach) so it's nice to see someone else with the same type of goal.

Take care, and good luck!

Depends on ur metabolism and how heavy you are and how 'clean' you stay and how much exercise you do. It took me 6 weeks to lose 22lbs

This is exactly what I did, and feel it is the best way to go about finding your specific goal. My first sour-grapes goal (of a whopping 5 pounds) was entirely too modest because I assumed I would never be able to get to where I actually wanted to be. At 141 pounds, I thought at the time that anything under 125 or a size 6 was anemic, and told myself I was large-boned to reinforce that belief. Turns out I'm medium-framed!

Weight charts cannot always be trusted! But this one is amusing to play around with anyway : Better Ideal Weight Body Calculations

Just a subtle reminder that in the end it really doesn't matter how long to some extent it takes to lose the weight. If it takes 2 weeks or 2 years if you want the weight off for good, this plan works best if you make permanent changes and learn how to eat long term. That said, my first 22 pounds took less than 3 weeks. My last 22 pounds took closer to 3 months.
