| Victoria, Fill up on a big meal just before you. Take your own snacks to eat. Try to cut down on the carbs that are there. If they have pizza, just eat the top etc. Jerky, nuts, bags of cheese & salami. You could take them with you?

| I could take some cheese and possible vegetable snacks. I'm a vegetarian though, so the jerky is not gonna happen. I guess I can explain everything to Liz (the birthday girl) before I leave my house. Just let her know I have some limitations.

| I know you don't want everyone to know. Is the birthday girls parent's the doctors? If not I would tell the parents that you will not be able to eat the cake and other high carb items. Maybe ask her to make something for everyone to eat but that she will know you are going to eat most of it. Then ask the parent to not tell her daughter about your request. If she questions try to explain. Adults are more willing to help and plus they are not going to ridcule you for doing something that is healthy. I like the snack suggestion. But my thoughts are you can't live off of snacks. You will run out of snacks if you don't eat a full meal. Even for a night. Being one of those guys that went through his whole school life as anywhere from 20 -120 pounds overweight I know how the school people will make fun of you if they think your fat. Don't tell then your doing the Atkins DIET maybe tell them your doing the Atkins way of life or Low-Carb Lifestyle. I know this may not help you any however, it is a suggestion. If these are friends then they should not be judging you. Only strangers judged me. My friends and band members (high school marching band) knew me. I was never called fat in a negative or hurtful manner. They did more of it as a funny thing. Have fun tonight. Remember the cheat police are watching you. Also so are others that maybe considering doing Atkins and you not know about it.

| You can just explain you're cutting down on sugar and white flour products. It's pretty mainstream these days to avoid it really. Maybe tell 'em you've had a skin breakout lately or somesuch....they should be busy eating anyway, right...lol? Pack some almonds or cashews. They go a long way towards filling you up and are easily transported in a baggie. Q

| OK, a sleep over... what time does the party start?? If you eat before you go, and it is a late party, you should be ok. And breakfast, hopefully, is the easy part! Eggs are usually a breakfast staple. You can't go wrong there, right? I have really not ever gotten too much of a hard time when turning down "cake and ice cream" even at a birthday party. Usually a "Oh, no. Thanks. I am stuffed" is fine and they move on to others. Hang in there, you can do it!! |

| since you are a vegetarian you know they will be making specail food for you so please call them and tell them right now about your new eating plan and just ask so wouldit be okay if I bring some foods I can eat to share? no hostess will ever turn down free foods. if you wait till you show up then it could cause issues.
