Exclamation At my 2week point...

Hello everyone! I am just at my 2 week point on the Atkins Diet. I have lost 6.5lbs. I keep flucuating between 6-9 lbs. I just wanted some advice where I should go at this point. I know the induction phase is only supposed to be 14 days.. but I feel that maybe I should continue with the less than 20 carbs a day. I have been doing pretty good with my dieting. I am trying to drink at least 2 liters of water a day. I would like to lose at least 40-50 pounds. If any one has any advice please help me!!!!

Beginner,
Heather.

Hi HeatherRN.... I am HeidiRN

my advice is you are doing great!!! we had the same amt to loose and you lost exactly what I did in my first two weeks so good for you!!! ..be happy and keep going!!! I averaged 2lbs a week in the big picture ..that equals out to some weeks nothing and some weeks up to five lbs!!!

there is no point in staying on induction too long when you add carbs back remember you are not adding volume you are adding variety and testing the boundaries of seeing what you can and can not eat..so do not wait to progress too long....

be patient ..enjoy this and good luck!

Yikes! Please stay away from the junk bars! Eat real food! Plus, you aren't getting enough calories from one bar for breakfast and one for lunch. This isn't Slimfast, we eat real food. You can do it!

WOW. Okay I guess I been going at this all wrong! I will have to find some recipies to make some breakfast and lunch. Am I ok to continue to with the induction phase since this is the 14th day for me?

Okay...ditch those bars. Those are frankenfoods. Treat your body to real food. It doesn't have to be real hard if you aren't into it. They sell romaine and spinach by the bag already torn up (better for you that head lettuce), by prefab hamburgers (check the contents)...those are so quick to fry up. You can even fry up a weeks worth and warm them up as you go. Make some hardboiled eggs. I don't even scoop out the insides...I just put a bit of mayo right on top of the half...sprinkle a little salt and pepper and I am done and saved a dish....LOL! Having steak for supper...cook a big one or two and put the extra servings into the freezer...pull one out in the morning when you know it is going to be a rushed night.

Lots of great recipes here: http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/

I wouldn't start my induction over. Just learn the lesson. Reread the book and stickies and move on.

Just my opinion.

ditch the bars and read chapter 13 of your DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 edition. answer those questions and you will know if you can continue induction or move to OW based on your needs wants and metabolism.
