Can someone tell me what RUNG means?

I'm new and been seeing the word RUNG used and wonder if it stands for anything and what it means?

Rung refers to the food levels or groups that are found in OWL. Dr. A refers to a carbohydrate ladder, and ladders have rungs - such as vegetable, dairy, seeds nuts, berries/melons, etc. The rungs are a best suggestion at how to add foods back into your diet during OWL.

i guess you have not been able to read the book yet? Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition.

Oh but I DID read the book,but am still on induction so that chapter i will go over again when I get to the next phase, I just could not find the word RUNG in the book perhaps you can tell me what chapter it states the word RUNG.I thought it would be in chapter 14. Anyway thanks for the link

maybe the exact word "rung" is not used in the book? ladder is used and as you go up the ladder it is going on to the next phase, climbing the rungs.

chapter 14 speaks of the ladder.

many of us had read the earlier edition and maybe that is where the exact word "rung" came from. megs or 2big would know the exact answer for that.
at any rate, that is what the rungs refer to: the phases of atkins.

in the new version it only says ladder and levels.

steps on a ladder are called rungs since it is a carbohydrate ladder each step must be a rung.
