| Hey, the man is 15 pounds BELOW goal. I say he can have dumplings once a year on his birthday, and still maintain his weight. I remember dumplings, with great fondness. Actually, I probably will never be able to eat them, even in moderation, again, since I have absolutely no control. Chicken and dumplings. and potato soup were the two dishes that I would literally continue eating until I was sick. I know an addict when I see one, and I saw me!

| Good for you K5! And I agree with Chris. The great thing about this WOE, is that you CAN have such things again, eventually. In moderation of course. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! |

| Maintenance Phase is a different game than the weight loss phases. You've gone through the weight loss phases, so you know how your body responds to different foods. You also know what your CCML (Critical Carbohydrate Maintenance Level) is. So there's no need to eat Induction level carbs and Induction foods during Maintenance Phase---unless you have extremely severely metabolically resistant and need to eat very little carbs in order to maintain weight. That's the great thing about Atkins... If you do it correctly, you learn about your body's response to various foods and you learn how much carbohydrate your body can have in order to maintain your weight. So foods "forbidden" during Induction might be a part of your Maintenance diet.

| I saw in an interview with Dr. Atkins, once, where he said that sometimes he did eat the crust on the pizza. He was at maintenance level, so he could do that from time to time. I wonder how many of the folks here would scold a fellow member for doing the same?
