Question Stubborn Scale!

Hello Everyone,

I re-started Atkins on October 21st, cheated twice (once on Halloween) and just started walking an hour a day since October 31st. The scale has been slow to move, but my clothes are falling off of me. Is this normal? I mean I want to be smaller, but the scale shows little movement.

Thx

you are doing great
Probably before long you will be noticing the opposite - scales moving but your body inches not!

Just keep up the good work as you are doing and you will be a big loser!

That's awesome, keep up the good work!!!

The scale always seemed to move very slowly for me too (of course when you get on it a few times a day it's no wonder! lol)... Like Elizellen said, soon it'll be the opposite... Just keep going and it will all come off in the end...

The scale will catch up! Really if you think about it, what does it matter? No one knows your weight in numbers, but if they can see you looking thinner and you feel thinner! That's what really counts! Plus, muscle weighs more than fat and is much more compact!

Yeah, the body works in wonderful ways! just because you don't see it on the scale, doesn't mean you aren't burning fat and getting smaller. You're seeing that for yourself now.

It'll catch up as MOG says...keep the faith!

One pound of muscle takes up less space than one pound of fat . . . . so, as you exercise and build lean muscle, your body will getting smaller without showing huge differences in the scale. KEEP IN MIND . . . that muscle burns calories more efficiently . . . so . . . as things even out, that scale should start bopping along.

Definitely pay more attention to your measurements than to the scale. We are so addicted to the number on the display -- now's a good time to learn a new way to view yourself. With measurements and clothing sizes.

Good luck, pookie!

If you keep dropping sizes, the scale will eventually catch up with you. It is inevitable. Your body will realize in a one swoop that I don't need to hang on to this extra water, and it will be flushed away. You've already seen the depleting of the fat cells with the smaller sizes -- now you're body is just making sure it really really doesn't need it anymore.
