| what phase are you in? you can get tuna slamon and other meats in foil pouches now that need no refigeration some mayo and salad dressing packets too. there are some very cute lunch mates that you can chill the chemical pouch for and use that for hours of cooling effect for your veggies and then just mix it all up at lunch time.' if you are an owler you could do nuts cheese some fruits and veggies. make a dried fruit and nut mix nut butter on a flax nuffin string cheese on a flax muffin if you are to the greain rung you could use the low carb tortikka wraps and wrap you stuff from those pouches.

| I agree with the above posts - invest in a good cooler! I have to travel to school on Saturdays (sometimes 1 hour dirve each way, sometimes 2 hours) and am gone ALL day. And there is no access to a fridge. I take lunch and snacks in the cooler and am just fine. I bought a decent one at Target for less than $15. You can use the chemical packs, or fill some large Ziploc bags with ice. I find the bags of ice keep my food colder over the course of the day. Good luck . . . and good question! Stacy

| Also depends when you make your lunch... lots of things last until lunch, out of a fridge or cooler, if they are made at breakfast time. Cheese, eggs, cold cuts, veggie sticks, nuts and fruit (if you're at the right rungs). Then there's canned tuna/salmon...

| Nuts are a good "room temperature" snack, as well as beef jerky. Veggie's will be ok out of refrigeration for a while--usually I pack celery sticks or bell pepper slices. Pepperoni, since it's cured, is also safe. I'd invest in a little cooler, like the others said, and the stuff you pack should stay cool all day! Easy stuff to pack are hardboiled eggs, string cheese, lunchmeats--basically finger foods.
