| Hi Lisa I am sure you are not alone in haveing problems getting started again In fact we have a whole forum here called the Second Time Around Club (STAC) for people who had success with Atkins but for one reason or another 'fell off' and are having a tough time now. My suggestion would be to take small steps if you are finding it hard to get everything in line - start your exercise as planned then maybe plan your foods and get your induction eating going, then start to cut down on the caffeine once you are on-plan with those. Some people go cold turkey with the caffeine whereas others cut down gradually by first adding some decaf to the fullstrength stuff and increasing the decaf while phasing out the caffeine till they are all decaff. And keep coming here and reading and posting to give you some encouragement.

| Glad you're back and posting. Sorry to hear your difficulties. You're right... food really is an addiction for some. Elizellen gave you great advice. Take things in baby steps (mentally) and they'll turn into weeks and months before you know it! It's great that your husband is prepared to exercise with you. That's really important support and so nice for you. (You might even want to nominate him for the ADBB Non Member Mate of the Year contest: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=38449 (ADBB non-member MATE OF THE YEAR!!) ) We're rooting for you and here to answer any questions you might have. You can do this!!!

| Welcome Lisa!! Glad you decided to come back and get serious. Make some good solid plans for yourself. If I have it written down - I keep focused better. Like you've been told, take it day by day. My motto is: Gonna quit talking about it and make it happen. I tell myself that everyday. Come here often to surround yourself with others who understand. The info and motivation you get from others who are making it happen is so valuable!! You can do it, we are all here for you!!!

| Dear Lisa, I know it is hard, but listen to the good advice everyone has given you. Start with sticking and following the rules of induction, and then add the workout. That is what I did. At first just keeping tabs on my food was alot to keep up. After a week or so I started walking. If you fall off atkins just start right back, by the next meal. Before you know it you will be back in ketosis. You can do it!

| (((Lisa))) Super big hugs. I sure hope you don't give up and keep your focus on the baby steps of making changes that Elizellen suggested. Keep in mind that exercise is the #1 endorphine and mood enhancer, so maybe you and DH can go for short walks around the block one block at a time. I think it's awesome that he's supporting you. What a great guy! I'm so excited for you, because you have a plan of attack and taking this journey with the support of your hubby. Best wishes! |
