| Hi Isabella ![]() Welcome to our ADBB family It sounds as if you are well organised and motivated so I am sure you will soon be a big loser! We have a special forum, for those Atkineers who have lost/need to lose 100 pounds plus called the Century Club forum where you might find lots of inspiration and advice as well as at the other forums here. So just jump in and ask any questions you need answers to and there will probably be a member who has had to cope with the same problems.

| Hi there, I'm not 45-50 but I did start at 280... I'd say the most important thing to do if you want this to work for you is to follow the book by the tee! At least in the begenning... eventually you'll find what foods do and do not work for you. Induction really is fool proof - IF you stick with it!! Also, make sure you exercise. I wouldn't have lost even 1/2 the weight with out exercise. You've just got to do it!! I too come from a large hispanic family, Over the last few months I've noticed that they've been making things a little different just for me! They've been leaving potatoes out of the carne adavada, no flour in the chili, etc... It took them awhile but they've come around! And I've gotten a few of them to jump on board with me!! hehee. Good luck, you're going to do GREAT!!!

| I started this WOE at the age of 49 at the weight of 285. The best advice I can give you is to never give up. You'll have up/down times - but if you continue on the program it will happen. Make a plan that fits into your life-style. We all have different occupations, income and live different lives, so never compare yourself to anyone else. Do it for you. We are all here to share your journey and give you support! You can do it!

| Hello! I too am re-starting Atkins. I was going to start on 12/28 but have decided to officially start 1/4/07. I'm not 40 yet but I do weigh 265! I have been on atkins before and for me, the best way is to never get upset about having a "slip up". Before I would eat something that I wasnt supposed to and then instead of accepting it and moving foreward with my new WOL, I would make an excuse to get off of Atkins and go back to my old way of eating. Keep telling yourself that you can do this! You deserve it! You WILL do this!! This board seems like they all know what they're talking about and will help in anyway. Good luck and let the weight loss begin. |

| It is now January 1st! Happy start day! My advise would be to keep meals very simple the first few days. After that get busy experimenting! Go to Linda's site and try a new recipe a few times a week. Make a few quiche like things and freeze them in baggies for when life gets busy. Happy New Year! |
