Default Uh oh...

Ok here is where I am right now. I am currently on my 7th day of clean induction (or so I thought) well so far I haven't lost any weight so I went and got some ketostix and that strip turned purple instantly, so I'm like good I must be doing something right. I was browsing the site and came across a post about whipped cream and how much you can consume, well I have been eating about 1 tablespoon with my jello everyday since induction but I have been using the Cool Whip type of whipped cream and I looked and the carbs weren't high but in the ingredients it listed corn syrup. My question is could the whipped cream be the reason I haven't lost any weight?

It may be - stop having the cool whip and see if there is a difference after a few days. You can make your own with heavy whipping cream or heavy cream and splenda. Just beat it with a mixer untill it is thick. It will store in the fridge for a few days.

Good Luck!!

Thanks I've already thrown the Cool Whip away. One last question. Which salad dressing is best for induction?

Good, because I love ranch dressing but not having lost any weight thus far I have really been examining what I have been eating and since all the ranch dressings say that it contains 1 gram of sugar and 2 grams of carbs per serving I thought I was going to have to give it for for something else

Some people get stalled on the sweeteners - like the sugar-free jello has a ton of it, and it's not the correct type, which is why it's not recommended to eat the kind out of the blue box, and it's not recommended for induction. Then again, you could be someone who's body is perfectly fine with the sweeteners. I eat dressings too - oil & vinegar, ranch or blue cheese... Are you drinking your water? Was that 48oz just that one day or is that typical? It should be like, 64oz plus 8oz for every 25lbs I believe... since yours is 18 lbs, I guess that's like, 70oz/day.

I'd up the water. Two things that caught my eye is that the strips will be Dark purple if you aren't getting enough water. Any color change is good, but light purple means that the ketones are diluted in the water you're consuming.

Drink lots and lots and lots of water.

It's a good idea to start reading the labels on EVERYTHING you buy and check for sugars, corn syrups, starches etc. I don't buy any product i'm not familiar with unless i read the label...even if it says it's sugar free or low carb. It may be sugar free but can contain starch (sf jello pudding is an example)

I think we have to be careful of added sugar (too high on the ingredients list - it should be near the end of the list) in even Ranch dressing dressings. I thought the rule was as long as it has 2 grams or less of carbs and 1 gram or less of sugar. Can't remember where I saw this.

According to the allowed list for induction

Prepared salad dressings without added sugar and no more than two carbs per tablespoon serving are also fine.
