| Make your very next bite Atkins legal - if you are hungry, eat. DRINK LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of WATER - maybe get a workout in. Many variables will go into how long it takes that cake to get out of your system...but it very likely will knock you out of ketosis over the next little bit and you may experience cravings until you are back in ketosis. When you crash from the sugar, you will probably want to eat - don't fast - eat your Atkins foods and move on. And give some thought to why you turned to the cake today so you can figure out what to do if you have that urge again...remember the bloated, stuffed feeling you have now and chalk this up to a learning experience! |

| Kylie- You rock! It seems you are an awesome source for information and support. I am still in ketosis. I have been checking every time I go. I am drinking water like mad too. I will go ahead and have my legal food as you suggested. I can not get to the gym to work out until about 9 PM but I plan to go and get some time in on the eliptical. 30 minutes is better than nothing (although I did do 60 minutes of cardio this morning). I have NO CLUE what prompted me other than I used to ALWAYS have something sweet after I ate lunch and dinner. I think it was a re-lapse of a bad habit. I know I wasn't hungry - I just wanted something sweet after lunch. It could go further than that but right now I'm not sure. Thanks again- Ana |

| Ana I hope that you did in fact have a legal dinner. One of the hardest things to learn for me was to never let a minor setback turn into a major setback. One mistake does not give the green light for more. I like to think of it as, if you were at work, and you made a simple mistake on paperwork, would you tell yourself "Well guess I can screw off all day now!" You most certainly would not. You would get right back on the straight and narrow. Thinking of it that way helped me to realize just how silly it would be to let a whole day go to waste because of one poor choice. You can do this!!!

| I hope you had the legal dinner too. Infact, I think Whoosie Pie is probably one of the best things you could have after a slip like that. Get satisfied from all the fat and hopefully that will help any craving that you may get... |

| I had whooshie pie for dinner and then walked at a very fast pace for about 35 minutes late last night. I was not able to get to the gym but I figured I could step outside and pound the pavement - which I did. I stayed in ketosis and woke up this morning and was still in ketosis. I weighed myself this morning as it was the end of Induction and I lost exactly 5 pounds. My goal is to lose a total of 77 pounds so the 5 pounds falls right between the 5% and 10% mark. Yes, it would have been nice to see a bigger loss but 5 pounds gone is better than none or even worse 5 gained! So, with that in mind I am happy with the 5 and think I will stay on induction for a while longer - or as soon as I am within 20 pounds of my goal. Also wanted to add that working out makes me want carbs. The days I o to the gym I always crave sweets later in the day. I think it may be a throw back to my "reward" mentality. SOmething I have to keep my eye on. Thanks for all the support! I am glad I am starting to post as I do think it helps! Have a great day! Ana |

| Ok, I am sort of new to this so this is not an advice, just what I would do in your situation: If you think that you cheated because you are used to having something sweet after your meals and even miss that, then moving into owl as soon as you've lost the 10% may be a better idea than staying on induction for a long while. As you move up the rungs you will have greater variety and be able to create little Atkin safe desserts you an have after your meals? To me it has been important to think of this as a lifestyle change, not a punishment for gaining weight, which means finding all the enjoyable parts of it (like creamy nobake cheesecake... Anyway, great that you jumbed right back up on the horse again! sanne
