| Hi Misplaced Southerner! Welcome (possible back) to ADBB. It sounds like you have a great attitude and know what you're doing. Congrats on finding yourself a lovely man I wouldn't say I'm a pro but I would say for me the key has been exercising regularly - that way I lose faster, feel better and more conntected to this WOL. Joining a challenge is a great way to get some accountability. Best of luck with it all |

| Oh how wonderful! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! My best advice to you is to keep it up and exercise, exercise, exercise along with (of course) staying true to your eating regimen! The wedding photos and your guests don't know the numbers on your scale, but it is entirely possibly to lose fewer pounds and still look fantastic if you are working it at the gym/outside/at home. While you're making this big commitment to him, you might as well make a commitment to better nutrition and fitness. Glad to have you on the boards!

| thanks to all of you for your encouraging responses! my biggest obstacle is my own lack of patience (and my poor techie skills to navigate this site!) i enjoy seeing all the messages of success. it is good motivation. after reading my message, do you experts believe i have a realistic goal? one of the millions of reasons i love my guy is that he loves ME......as i said. this weight loss is for ME as i remember how GREAT it feels to wear those size 6 jeans and have tons of energy...that is my motivation! i will continue to check in and learn from you pros~ by the way,,,where do i find the graphics for my weight loss scale? |

| Congrats on your wedding. I too am back a second time because I fell in love. I met my husband when I was nice and trim and on maintenance. Well that went to heck in a handbasket. Dinners out, wine, desserts, who cares, I am in love..lalalalalalala. Well after three years on not caring and still being in love I put on a nice 35 + lbs. But here I am today and it is coming off and I feel great. My husband is so supportive since he put on some love pounds too. We are both working together on getting back in shape (though he is choosing another plan). Good luck to you! |

| I love these kind of stories, proof that life is great and worth living !! Welcome back to the board (for both newbies) On your question for the ketosis, I never ever seen a ketostick upclose and I wouldn't worry about it too much, it only indicates you are or are not in ketosis and if you are it is not yet a proof that you are actually losing bodyfat (only indicates you are losing fat, could also be from the bacon you just ate) on top of that, it doesn't matter what color it shows, any color means ketosis. I also think you need to be eating low-carb a couple of days untill ketosis kicks in, so the first days you won't be able to see anyway. Good luck on the losing and I do think your goal is realistic, indeed also pay attention to what changing said, the numbers don't count, the look is what does it !!!

| it is so nice to hear from all of you today! and yes, (in response to one of you)...my life IS proof that good things do happen. you know, i truly believe that everything happens for a reason. god had something wonderful for me in mind but.....one has to learn to love oneself FIRST. life is good. i will continue to play with this site til i can find my way around (what is a stickie?)...please be patient. i'll get it? in the meantime i will pick your brains and when i have my own expertise to share, i will be happy to do that almost thru day 1 with no cheat...like everything else, i will take this one day at a time! |
