| Good for you! I have learned that celebrating the little victories (however small they may seem) is the key to staying motivated, and I love to celebrate with and for others! Hugs, Kristi |

| Congratulations on by-passing the donuts. You'll be so proud of yourself at the end of the day! Also congrats on the upcoming wedding in June. Just think how great you'll feel and look by then with your new figure.

| thanks all! yea i know it seems like a small thing to most folks but for me to pass up the dreaded bread family item is BIG! sweets are not such a biggie for me but anything breadlike is killer! you know, when i started back on this, i looked at my goal of 35 pounds and it seemed totally overwhelming. maybe it is the deadline of 35 pounds by june 30! but when i see what all of you are doing and have been doing i am so JAZZED! so a question for all you pros....am i being realistic in my goal? i take weight loss a pound at a time....i make little 5 pound goals. so i TRY not to think of the #35....but it is the final number i want to hit..so whaddya think??? BTW..on the profile, what does "referral" mean? |

| I understand the 'overwhelming feeling'. I had 145 pounds that I wanted to lose when I began. For the first month, I stressed over that number and it was making me very frustrated. I had so far to go to reach my goal. Then, one of the wise people here told me to take my measurements don't look at the numbers, instead focus on becoming comfortable with the program and the inches lost. She advised me to work on being positive about my new life-style and make friends. Bingo...thats when it all clicked. Each day brings me closer to goal and makes this WOE a way of life. Is your goal realistic? Everyone's body works differently. (age, life-style, genes, occupation, likes/dislikes in foods,) I've seen people lose a hundred pounds in a year - while its taken me almost three years. I'm still not at goal, but I'm happier, healthier and enjoying the scenery. Whatever you do, don't give up on yourself. You'll be a beautiful bride in June.

| THANK YOU becky!!! 100 pounds!?!?! you are AMAZING! ![]() i have to practice patience (the lack of it is my greatest vice!) and i do remember that feeling of well being, energy and the strength and vitality i felt when i was exercising regularly.....i have to learn to enjoy the ride... and thanks for the sweet words about being a pretty bride...as vain as it sounds (and i am not a vain person)...every girl wants to look pretty on her wedding day... |

| You so deserve to be proud of yourself! It's not the "small thing" you say... it's a terrific achievement to have walked right by those donuts! Good for you! And... you know what? It gets easier and easier the more you resist temptation.

| I can totally relate to the the office full of foods. I work in a school too and over Valentines day the faculty room was brimming with cake and candy. Not to mention I had a bunch of students give me valentines. One even gave me a box of chocolates. It wasnt hard to to ignore them. But back in January it would have been really difficult. On Sunday we had company and I made these really incredible triple chocolate gooey brownies. Not once was I tempted. I learned from everyone that they were great. It was a true test for me and I passed it without breaking a sweat. It gets better and easier as time goes by. Keep passing up those bread products and before you know it you wont even care about them anymore. |
