Exclamation AARRGGHH!!! (kinda long)

ok i guess i am in a whiney mood today. i really need to play more with the board and find my way around. i am such a techno-boob...all these great photos, icons and what not that i just don't understand how to do or what they mean......sheesh! if anyone can tell me where to find out what all these symbols and signs mean etc please let me know and thanks in advance. i would like to put my weight loss slide on my posts but i am not sure where to find that.

BUT...that is not why i am here today. well, i fell a little the last two days. not enough that i gained weight but enough that i am sure i kicked myself out of ketosis and i did not lose either. so today i am pumping the water again, had my healthy breakfast and snack and am heading into lunchtime. i refuse to beat myself up. i just have to pick myself up and dust myself off and keep going.

i am going with me fiance to san francisco in 3 weeks to meet his new business partner. do you pros think that a 10 pound mini goal in 3 weeks is reasonable? i do not want to set myself up for failure. the GOOD news is that we are picking up our new elliptical machine today!!! whoo hoo! my time at the gym has decreased dramatically lately due to unavoidable changes in my schedule...now i have no excuse. last january i dropped about 10 pounds in a month simply by upping my exercise so i am really hoping this will give me a much needed boost!

sorry for rambling....i must be feeling "needy" today!! i do love reading all the posts that you guys write...you are ALL such great inspirations!!!

Good for you for getting back on the wagon and not beating yourself up!

Wow, 10 pounds in 3 weeks? I personally wouldn't set a large goal like that. What about 5 pounds in 3 weeks? Or a goal to exercise 4x a week? Or a goal to stay cheat-free for 3 weeks? Or a goal to drink all of your water everday? It's important to focus on positive things and not set yourself up for disappointment. Would you be crushed if you didn't lose those 10 pounds? It's really a personal choice. If it will help you succeed and stay focused, then go for it!

As far as that weight loss goal, a lot of things can affect that, including how much weight you have left to lose, metabolic resistance, gender, age, hormones, medication, etc. Do what's best for you, and set a goal you're sure you can reach.

thanks julie. good advice. attainable goals are always good! i am so so so excited to get my elliptical machine. i used to be such a gymrat....love the high it gives me and it killed me to have to give that up so i am looking forward to having that feeling again. i am a little compulsive so if i set a goal i will work really hard to reach it. if i don't reach it i do not beat myself up but i know i tried my very best.

i played around a little and found a link to technical questions so i hope to play with that some tonight and get answers to some of my goofy questions!

thanks for your great attitude!

Definately don't beat yourself up! This is a WOE, and learning to jump back on the wagon imediately after falling is a skill that will serve you extremely well. It's not the first cookie that kills you. It's the second one, the next row, the entire bag, and the cheetos, pizza, etc etc over the next few weeks when you can't/won't jump back on the wagon.

A HUGE GRATS for jumping back on. It will save you!

Yeah, I'm almost in the same boat as you! I fell off, gained about 15 and in two weeks have a big event that I'd like to look "back to normal" for. Exercise, use FitDay, drink TONS of water and be excited with the progress you do make. You don't have to judge everything by what the scale says--also know that you're feeling better and you are BURNING FAT.

Congratulations on jumping back in. Make yourself some plans for your San Francisco trip. Whenever I know I am going on a trip, I always make plans to keep me on-track. If you are familiar with the places you will be eating, then that will be a big help. If not, at least know what your options are and look for those on the menus. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want and pack some 'emergency foods' in your suitcase so you won't be tempted. It really is a matter of attitude. Don't be cautght off-guard, plan for success and you'll not only have a great trip, you will be proud of yourself for sticking to the program. Best wishes!! Let us know how it goes.
