As for daily menues there aren't any. OWL and Pre-Maintenance are highly individualized. As Dr. Atkins wrote: OWL is where you're start tailoring Atkins to fit your special tastes: it's what makes Atkins so unique and such a pleasure.

| BTW you might not have maintained ketosis after the wine as the ketostrips measure the acetone (I think) produced by the breakdown of alcohol in the same way as they register ketones!

| And while the body is busy burning the alcohol, it breaks down the fat, carb and protein you've eaten and stores it as glycogen and fat. Elizellen is referring to the by-products of alcohol metabolism. Alcohol is a toxin and so our body has to break it down into relatively less toxic by products. One of the by- products is aceto-acetate and it's removed from your body in your urine. It's chemically similar to the ketone, aceto-acetic acid. Those ketostrips measure the excess aceto-acetic acid in your urine. So there is a possibility that the strips are detecting the aceto-acetate of alcohol breakdown, rather than the ketone, aceto-acetic acid.
