| Have to say, I'm one of the lucky ones who can eat nuts (in reasonable quantities though). Nuts have been know to stall quite a few people... and cause portion control issues. If you can't handle them, it's best to stay away. Sad but true. You could try to re-introduce them ultra carefully in a while to see if they affect you differently, but be wary.

| Nuts and seeds are the number 1 problem food for the folks on On-Going Weigh Loss Phase. The problem is either how the person's body reacts to the nuts or portion control.

| My personal experiences with nuts are probably similar to many on the board. Peanuts don't bother me one bit--for some reason, they don't taste very appetizing, and I only eat them in emergencies or when I have nothing else to eat. Peanut butter, on the other hand, is one of the most dangerous foods I know. I can only eat a certain brand--out of all the brands on the shelf, I've only found ONE that does not cause cravings. Cashews are also incredibly dangerous. I ate ONE cashew yesterday, and it caused cravings! After eating just one nut! I was testing the waters with those yesterday. I ate them at Christmas and had major cravings, so I wanted to see if perhaps I had just eaten too many. Nope, if one causes cravings, then I should NOT be eating them. Other nuts, like almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts, etc. give me no portion-control issues or cravings. I eat almonds almost everyday and they have not caused any undesired effects. But remember, each person is different and will have different experiences with various foods.

| Peanut butter and most nuts typically don't cause any problem...my only real problem is with almonds. I used to eat chocolate covered almonds by the box full before Atkins and if I eat regular almonds now I start craving chocolate so I've had to say good bye to them...but so far I've been lucky that chocolate and almonds are the only two things on my list so far that cause cravings... ~Far la bella figura!

| I eat them in moderation and they don't bother me, usually when I need to up my fat, this works great for me. (I use little containers and measures l serving) so I don't eat more then l serving and I they are easy to grab on the run or pack with my lunch. Every now and then I will eat a serving of peanut butter on a piece of Natures own Double Fiber bread. (It usually adds) about 10 grams of carbs for the day, but its like a treat?or feels like a cheat for me, but it never hurts me.

| Roasted, salted nuts....baaaaaaaaaaad. They mess with my water weight and make it hard for me to control portions. I want to binge on them, same with jiffy peanut butter. But the regular, nothing added peanut butter I can control (barely), same with non-roasted nuts. I have to be really careful though, things can get out of hand really quick.

| I just recently started on nuts. I have a problem with portion control but as long as I watch myself they don't seem to cause any stalling problems. I havn't dared to try peanut butter yet. |

| I got into trouble with nuts right away on the nut rung. I started snacking on salted pumpkin seeds and wasn't watching my portions as well as I should have. The salt really made me retain water. I've since ditched the pumpkin seeds and either count out 10-12 unsalted almonds, or have a tablespoon of sugar-free, all natural peanut butter, and I'm doing okay with that. |
