| Weight fluctuates constantly. I have discovered that Saturday morning is a good day for me to weigh, and I basically only weigh on Saturdays. If I weighed everyday or every other day, I'd go crazy. Keep doing what you're doing, and the weight and inches will come off!

| Yes it sure does come off just when you least expect it. The more you watch that scale the more frustrated you will become. I am learning this one the hard way...lol Good luck!!

| Have you tried posting in the 'review my menu' forum, perhaps there is something you are eating that could be the culprit as well (ie too much cheese with your whine?

| Yeah definately, post your menu, let's have a look at what your eating. But most importantly. STAY OFF THE SCALE!!! haha. I weight once a week, if I don't show a loss, so be it, if I do PARTY!!! It appears that you have the right attitude (attitudinal - I LOVE THAT!) so just keep pushing on....put that scale in the cabinet under the sink, and take it out on your weigh day. Use fitday enter how your weight changes, it's so cool several months down the road to look at the FITDAY weight loss report...you see this line that keeps traveling downward, down is goooooooooood! You'll get there, have faith! You're doing really good! |

| Don't fret the small blips in your journey. Weight loss goes in phases. Sometimes your body just needs time to understand that you mean business and to catch up. Also, if you've added extra exercise you may be building muscle... Here's a link that might be helpful: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard....read.php?t=5090

| wow and thanks for all your great and helpful responses!!! patience is a virtue but sadly...it is not MY virtue...perhaps it is the pressure of the wedding coming up and even at 46, i want to feel like a princess (no that's QUEEN!) I LIKE ME!!! i really do. i just want to FEEL good. in my thinking moments yesterday, feeling a little sorry for me, i reminded myself "girl, you USED to weigh 220!!! you are STILL 40 pounds lighter than you USED to be!!!......25 more than i want to be but 40 LESS THAN I USED TO BE!" so friends...is the glass half full or half empty? my glass is running over! this morning, when that darn scale blinked 182 at me......i had a little talk with myself and said...you can quit (but i am not a quitter!!!) or you can take yourself on out to the garage, turn on the news, grab a bottle of water and sweat away!!! and that is just what i did after all.....can't come on here and tell you guys i gave up now can I??? like that little train "i think i can, i think i can, i think i can..." can you tell i am a first grade teacher???? |

| Is there any chance that all this working out is adding lean muscle tissue to your body. I have a general goal weight I want to reach but really I'm looking for a body fat percentage I'd like to have. I will probably never in my life be what the chart says a 5'9" person should be. I have way too much muscle mass and I'd prefer not to lose that because I worked hard for it. Just a thought. The scale isn't the best indicator of your health. I'd hate to see anyone get discouraged over a few pounds of lean muscle tissue that is actually beneficial to your body. Just my .02 |

| I totally agree. Right now, I weigh about 190 lbs but my body fat percentage calculated by calipers is like 24%. That's much much better than being 150 lbs with next to no muscle mass. I went once to have my body fat measured using the BodPod which uses air displacement. Supposedly its as accurate as hydrostatic weighing which is considered the "gold standard". Anyway, the guy there said he's seen PLENTY of very thin women on low calorie diets who have more body fat than I do...and this was last year when I was about 35% body fat.
