| D., the scale cannot be used as an oracle. Weight can fluctuate daily regardless of what we've eaten the day before. I take it you are on maintenance? |

| I doubt Danniel is on maintenance, let alone Atkins. Atkins is about healthy carbs, and adding them back in CORRECTLY, in a certain order. Nowhere does DANDR say that corn chips are a healthy food. I think what Danniel is noticing is the GI, or glycemix index of certain foods. Corn products and potatoes are Rung 8, Wine/beer is Rung 5, Beans are Rung 6. If done correctly, an Atkins follower reintroduces these foods during OWL. The foods are re-introduced based on the impact of blood sugar, or glycemic index. However, refined sugars and flours are not added back in. But, your body doesn't know if you consumed actual sugar or a food with natural sugars. Carbs are processed as carbohydrates, regardless of where they come from.

| No I am not in maintenance, I was 270 pounds 5 yrs ago now I am 195, from 170 I used to weight just a year ago... I think I post something about my weight months ago here. I'm just trying to go back to 170 again, and I know what to do but I was just messing around testing however you call it. And Thank you that exactly what the answer I was looking for. Because of the Glycemic Index, those foods have less impact on me. So that's why refined sugars and flours have a great higher impact. It's true because I've been eating those foods for the last 2 months and I've not gain A SINGLE pound. (NOT REFINED SUGARS or FLOURS), I'm still lazy to go back to induction again, 195 it's not to bad for 6,10 frame. aslongest i stay there then I'm okay. BUT yes I would like to go back to 170 again, so I can fit my 32 pants from 36 that I m now. hah :::::::::::::: But, your body doesn't know if you consumed actual sugar or a food with natural sugars. Carbs are processed as carbohydrates, regardless of where they come from. That, I wasn't very sure about it, and it makes a lot of sense. So basically what your might be saying is that: (even that is not right o correct) is just an example: if i eat half of flour tortilla then it would have the same impact as me eating 40 corn chips because of the high GI? |
