Default Chinese food?

I am doing extended induction and I was wondering if there is any chinese food that was safe to eat. I know so much of it has added sugar and added starch. Just wondering if anyone ever eats anything from a chinese resturant. Also while we are on the subject of allowable foods sugar free jello a yes or no?

I haven't eaten chinese food since i started this woe, or thai either . I can't think of anything other than steamed veggies and plain meat with no sauces that would be ok. So to me it wouldn't be worth it.

S/f jello is usually made with aspartame (i think? can someone confirm?), and can cause some ppl to stall splenda is the recommended sweetener. That said, it's an individual thing I find...aspartame never bothered me, but i know it has others. You could try, and if you stall you might want to cut them out.

In canada we have a brand called Hunt's Juicy Gels, premade jello cups, that are made with splenda, not sure if you get them there? they are very good.

Most chinese being the same, I have ordered chicken on a stick, but making sure that it is a dry spice rub and not the gooey marinade before i order. Once, i was sooo mad they switched up the place and the gooey came and i just took it home to the kids. You can get a side of steamed broccoli along with it.

Yes, Sugar Free Jello has Aspartame in it. Probably best to stay away from it.

Steamed broccoli, roasted duck (can be ordered sans sauce), egg drop soup, roasted chicken wings, steamed fish with capers. I like the local Chinese buffet - they also have a salad bar.

The pre-made sugarfree jello is made with splenda I believe, but it's (of course) more expensive.

The chinese place near me has a special diet menu to order off of that doesn't have sugar/sauces.

I have a recipe for stir fry that was really yummy.
First you start with low sodium soy sauce, chicken broth and red wine vinegar (or rice vinegar without sugar) and garlic to taste (I use about a tablespoon of fresh minced) and ginger (about a tablespoon powdered). Put in any vegetables that are on the induction phase list. I used water chestnuts, broccoli, asparagus, onions, mushrooms, snow peas and zucchini. I cut them up and put them in a dish until I had 2 cups worth.

Take all the vegetables that take longer to sautee and put them in first, such as onions. Then add the next, such as broccoli, fresh snow peas, asparagus and zucchini, then mushrooms and lastly the watercress. Lastly add a big heaping portion of grilled or boiled shrimp.

I like thing HOT, so I mix up some fresh hot mustard (like the hot mustard they have at Chinese food restaurants) and put that in last. You may also want to season it a bit with salt or pepper. I try to stay away from salt, so the soy sauce is enough for me. You can also add more garlic powder and ginger if you need it spicier.

Lastly, you garnish with chives and eat. It's wonderful, fresh and tastes like a restaurant without all the krap.

If you aren't on induction, you can add peanuts, I think. I don't really care, I added them anyway. Just a small handful to give it some texture. YUMMMMMM!!
