That is so true about the low cal/low fat diet. You can have almost no salad dressing. Maybe 2 tablespoons of the fat free and I have to admit I hate the fat free Ranch! It has the really weird taste.

I have read most of the Salad dressings on the market, and most contain corn syrup. It will not show up as sugars on the label, so be sure to read the long list of ingredients and check for corn syrup. Chances are it is in there. I use Marie's Super chunky blue cheese. 0 carbs and 0 sugars and no corn syrup..And a little goes a long way.

a new favorite of mine is a lime or blood orange flavored olive oil by International....ohhh I can't think of the full name of the company....anyway, it's wonderful 0 carbs and I use 1 tbspn usually. The flavor is light with a hint of the lime or blood orange oil. A bit of sea salt and pepper and I'm all set. ESPECIALLY on a "salad" of jicama and walnuts. Ohhh yum.

Sorry, I guess I am just a little confused about why everyone is saying Ken's Ranch only has 1 carb? Based on their nutrition facts here: http://www.kensfoods.com/kf/products...roductFlavorId=
It says there are 2g/2Tbs and sugar is listed as an ingredient before the 2% series, so that is a more significant ingredient. The Buttermilk Ranch does only have 1carb/2Tbs, is that the one being referred to? Is buttermilk even allowed in induction?
Thanks so much!

At 1 total carb per serving, Ken's Steakhouse Buttermilk Ranch never gave me any problems. Full-fat dressings are permitted on Induction - and most other brands of full-fat Ranch on the market, buttermilk or otherwise, yield twice the carbohydrates as this one at 2 total grams per 2 T. Ultimately, it is a judgment call, and your mileage may vary.

Okay great, thanks so much for the response! The only thing I was worried about is that buttermilk doesn't come in until one of the OWL rungs, so I didn't know if it was okay for induction. I guess like you said, it will affect everyone differently. I've purchased the Ken's SH Caesar since my last post, so I'll just keep myself occupied with that for a while.I'm looking for a Ranch to dip celery in!

I know there's a recipe section, but why buy when you can make your own without worries of added sugar in less than 5 minutes? Both are induction friendly.
1. Ranch dressing:
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup mayonaise
1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch dressing/seasoning mix
1 gram CHO per 2 tablespoons
This stuff is like liquid crack and it is nice and thick for dipping.
2. Raspberry vinaigrette
1/3 cup red raspberry vinegar (2 g CHO per TBS - ie, Kozlowski Farms)
1/3 cup olive oil
2 TSP dijon mustard
1/4 TSP oregano
1/4 TSP black pepper
9 drops liquid sucralose (sweetzfree)
2 g CHO per 2 tablespoons
If you use granular Splenda (1/3 cup), it is 3 g CHO per 2 tablespoons
I LOVE the Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese! But if I need a ranch dip I usually use just plain Kraft Ranch.
