| Its a well known fact that the less weight that you have to lose, then the slower it will come off. Its also quite common for different people to lose weight slower than others. We used to have a moderator on this site who didnt lose any weight what so ever during induction, but stuck with it and eventually reached goal. Don't worry too much about it, you have already lost 5 pounds which is a good start. All the best Rich ps. you could try posting a couple of daily menus that you have eaten, so that we can see if we can spot anything that you could change.

| Congrats on your weight loss. Check the charts in the book to see your metabolic resistance to weight loss---I'm sure you'll be pleased with what the charts say. As for your clothing...what kind of clothing is it? I find that stretchy/t-shirt type material conforms to your shape so they never feel looser until you've lost a significant amount of weight. For me, my t-shirts and sweats didn't feel looser' until I had lost 40 pounds. However, my non-stretchy clothing, made from linen, silk or cotton broadcloth, did feel looser as I was losing those first 40 pounds. Also be sure you are exercising, as the exercise will help to tone your muscles and you'll appear "slimmer".

| The less you have to loose the slower the weight loss. Also age, and time of life. I'm down to my last 10-15 pounds, and I am having the hardest time getting rid of them, I loose and gain the same 5 pounds. But I'm almost 45, and am pre-menapause. (plus my lack of exercise does not help). I have gotten back to an exercise routine, which I'm hoping will help. But 4-5 pounds in two weeks is not bad. I'm lucky to loose 2-3 pounds a month these days. Give it time, and stay with it.

| SB, I also started at 140, and I'm also a shortie. The pace of your loss is pretty much were mine was. I think you are doing wonderful, and should definetely give it more time before even considering throwing in the towel! I think the best thing you can do for yourself, expecially those of us who only have 20-30 lbs. to loose, is look at your loss on a month by month basis only. I don't mean you can only weigh once a month, but when you do weigh, look back at where you were on that day four weeks ago! Honestly, And now I'm only 8 lbs away from goal! I look and feel great, get compliments all the time, only because I stuck to it even when I got frusterated. You can, too! Don't give up now! I can't stress this enough! Try posting a menu in the menu section, also try not weighing the week before you time of the month, or that week. |

| My weight loss journey is a very slow one. I have never lost weight so slow before in my life. But then again I have always gained it back. I would attribute my slow progress to my age, my unwillingness to give up my wine a few times a week , and the fact that my body seems to really like my current weight. The big difference in my life however is that I am not worried about gaining weight. I am used to this WOE and I love it and I have no problem finding the right foods to eat and resisting the ones that are bad for me. This in itself is an amazing improvement. I am confident that the rest of my weight will gradually come off in its own sweet time. I can assure you that if I had gone on weight watchers or some other calorie restricting program back in December I would have lost most if not all the weight I wanted, gained it all back and then some, and be starting here again at some point. Patience is probably the most overlooked yet most important part of any weight loss. Hang in there! |

| Ditto what the others said, and: Please don't give up! Now is the time to hang in there. If you do, you'll drop more pounds for sure.
