| Hiya! Dark pink on the Ketostix usually means you are Dehydrated. You may be retaining water and the best thing to do to get rid of it is drink more ( so that your body gets the hint that you are not languishing in a desert somewhere) Your body may also retain water when TOM is nearing. Go easy on the Salt ( makes you retain water) and is hard on your kidneys. you may be losing but the retained water is masking your progress on the scales. As soon as your body adjusts you will probably get a visit from the Whooshie fairy. Dont stress too much -- it will all happen in time Donna

| Up your fat intake, keep your carb intake low (esp. if you are on induction) and lower your protein intake, ingnore the ketostix, just my two pennies but after years and years of doing this the above will work - aim for more fat than you think. Yes dehydration is a factor but just look for clearish pee and for goodness sake, let's be real here, don't drink so much water intake that you are up all night and you lose every electrolyte going - it just means disturbed sleep and muscle cramp. |

| funny about the cramps...I had my first ones last night...in the calves..ouch...but I had really salty food last night (roasted pumpkin seeds that are coated in salt). I am drinking enough...most of the time...so I'll try upping the fat. thanks. |

| There is an awesome post on this board talking about the importance of water. I actually learned a few things. Your fat cells will actually replace the fat you have burned with water to retain their same size, until you practically flood your body with water. lol Okay maybe it isnt that graphic. They are stubborn as my 4 year old though. Dont get discouraged! Takecare |
