Default super stall!!!

Im so frustrated! I am nearing the end of 2 months of induction. In month one I lost 23 pounds, and felt so accomplished and awesome. Then this month I have only lost about 5 or 6 pounds, and they all seemed to go right in the beginning of the month - this is about 17 days with no weight loss.. i dont understand I have been going to the gym 2 or 3 times a week, though i admit the workouts havent been AS intense as they were last month.. And Where as last month I was drinking one gallon+ of water a day.. this month I am hardly reaching a gallon in a day..

Not so pumped.

this is my second time on atkins, last time I lost 80 pounds in 8 months.. In the first 2 months I had lost 35, this time.. the results arent making me smile so much - plus, i wish i had taken my measurements, but I dont feel that my appearance or the fitting of my clothes is changing at all!

lame!!
what can i do to change it up?!

thanks friends!

Dr. Atkins defined a weight loss plateau (stall) as 4 consecutive weeks without lose of pounds or inches. You didn't list if you've been following your measurements. So you might want to start monitoring them. And be careful about using your clothing's fit as a guide. Clothing with 'stretch' like t-shirts, knitted clothing, lycra or spandex blends, etc. will conform to your body shape. Clothing with very little stretch, like cotton broad cloth shirts, linen or silk, are a better indicator of fit because they don't conform as well.

You might want to review your menues and make sure you are eating the proper foods in their proper amounts for your phase of Atkins. If you still have menu questions, you can post your menu in the "Review My Menu" forum, just be sure to follow that forum's posting rules and indicate which Atkins phase (Induction, On-Going Weight Loss, Pre-Maintenance) you are on.

Ya got to keep in mind that muscle weights more than fat, so that coule be why you are not loosing. Look at the picture below, it can help put things in perspective.

actually you already state some reasons that might be behind your not losing as much, like not exercising as vigorous and not drinking as much water, so you might want to start to up those again, then also what you have to keep in mind is that your body might want a little break before starting to shed again, this is very normal, I wouldn't panic yet if I were you ! Almost 30 pounds in 2 months is not bad at all.
maybe you want to read this here thread, it helped me very much when I was in your situation Weight loss is not linear

Also, you will never lose like you lost in the beginning. There is no way your body can lose 23 lbs every month and remain healthy. One to three lbs a week is what you want to shoot for. So it may be time to re-examine a timeline if you have one. Moving up to OWL may give you another jump start, and I recommend it highly. Climb those rungs! And like it was said before, muscle weighs more than fat so you could be losing fat and gaining muscle which is probably what you are doing. Changing an exersize routine can help too. Strength training is great because the more muscle you have the faster you will burn fat.

I'm not sure I understand....you have lost 29 lbs in 2 months and you are not happy? You lost 35 the first time around in two months? is 5 lbs really going to make you soo hard on yourself?

Think about this.....29 lbs = 7 (SEVEN) 4lb bags of sugar!!!!! PLUS ONE LB !!!! (rarely can I find the 5lb bags anymore...they are mostly 4 lbs)

Now...go to the store....carry around 7 bags.....and see how much that is! ITS A LOT!!!

Don't beat yourself up by comparing...our bodies are all different. Be happy with the accomplishments you have...and work harder for more!!!
PLUS...muscle weighs more than fat.
Look at your clothes....not the scales.

Keep up the good work....and keep a positive attitude!!!!
