| Splenda is not a natural sweetner. Dr. Atkins did prefer it over aspartame, though. I think it is a YMMV thing. Dr. Atkins has us limit them because they can truly be a problem to some/most people. I would limit them and then add back to see how your body responds. Personally, they don't bother me, but I do try not to ingest too much because I do believe that there are risks with artificial sweetners. |

| I just bought some flavored water at Target. It has 0 sugars and no carbs, just aspartame. Should I stay away from it? |

| Darth, I think I read on another post that diet soda makes you stall? It is probably the aspartame in the soda that does that for you. Foods/drinks with aspartame make me stall too, so I use them very rarely. There are water brands sweetened with splenda, but you would need to count the carbs in those. I know, it's a big bummer when something says 0carbs 0sugar but your body doesn't react well to it. But if you keep looking you can find plenty of substitutes that taste great and still let you loose. Good luck! |

| I tend to steer away from Splenda as it does give me slight cravings. I use a product called Cologran made by Lidl. Cologran, and has been seen in Lidl stores. Both are Sodium Cyclamate mixed with Sodium Saccharin |

| I wish I could find lemonade sweetened with something other than aspartame. I do ok drinking water with lunch, and I don't drink anything with breakfast but by dinner I NEED a DRINK, not water. So I have been having a small (8 oz) glass of crystal light lemonade. Last time I was on Atkins I drank Country Time lemonade that was sweetened with that ace-K stuff which DA said was better than aspartame. They don't make it anymore though

| While of course it is always better to not have artificial sweeteners than it is to have them, the 2-3 packet-per-day allotment seems to help many Atkins followers. Your mileage may vary in terms of stalling (I personally never did), so keep your eye on it!

| Splenda doesnt cause me to stall.. Ive been losing 2 lbs a week solid, and have splenda in my coffee almost every morning (1 or two packets at the most) But everyone is different, so watching to see if it has an effect on you is best. It is easy to go past the daily limit, so make sure to count it! I stay away from the diet sodas completely... I personally think it would cause too many cravings, and cause me to slow down on the water consumption. But again, its a personal thing, whatever works for you. |

| Skinnymom, 4C is a brand that is sweetened with splenda. Also I read somewhere you can take a regular packet of koolaid and make it with splenda. If i was making that, I'd used liquid splenda. HTH, lisa

| I just saw an add in Good Housekeeping magazine for Kool-Aid with splenda, so I ran out and bought some cherry Kool-Aid. It's soooooo good. I just have to be careful I don't get carried away. I can't believe I didn't think of that on my own. |
