| MS, you can fry it in butter/oil (it gets nice and crispy) and season it. I had some from Whole Foods the other day that was sauteed in oil and cooked with cajun seasoning. It was really flavorful. You can also cut it into little chunks, fry it in butter/oil and coat it with cinnamon and splenda. You can eat it like that, or top it with sf syrup and eat it like french toast. It has a slightly odd texture and flavor which might take a little getting used to, but it grows on you.

| Firm tofu is best cooked like you would meat. For example, you can cube them. Then brown them in oil or butter, add veggies and you have a stir fry. You can also make mock scrambled eggs with it. Crumble it and saute it with veggies. Add a pinch of tumeric to give it a yellowish color. Or you can throw it in the freezer (no need to take it out of the package). After a day or two, remove it from the freezer and let it defrost. The tofu will have a spongy texture. Press out the excess water, cube it and pan fry it until crispy on all sides---use these like you would salad croutons. Or crumble it---it will look like and do the same job as TVP--and in combo with a ground meat for meat loaf, hamburger, etc.

| Tofu doesn't really have any taste but takes on the flavor of what it's cooked with. It also has a spongy texture. Try mixing the tofu with scrammbled eggs and cheese. Also you can mix tofu with shrimp, broccoli and add parmesan cheese. That tastes really good. I usually fry it in butter or Pam cooking spray! |
