| It may "stall" you on the scale, but that isn't an accurate portrayal of what is happening to your body. Make sure you take your measurements and go by that when you are exercising as you will drop inches more than lbs most likely. Way to go! I wish I could really get into exercise, it's still a drudgery for me.....

| just remember that your exercise compliments your diet but can not replace it completly. the same goes with your dieting. i worked out twice as hard during my first atkins attempt. its my third time around, and i toned it down a bit and kept an equal amount of attention to my dieting. so far i lost more than my first. when i was stalling, i would increase my exercise regimen, and expect a quick result THAT WEEK. little did i realize that i wasnt going anywhere without giving my body time to adjust to the weight change. |

| Too much exercise can make you more prone to injury and burn-out, and yes....it can stall weight loss, but there is a distinct difference between weight loss and fat loss. Exercise can actually cause you to gain weight - between your body holding on to water to help you through a perceived 'emergency' and lactic acid build up, but you will be strengthening your muscles, helping to maintain bone density, increasing your stamina and cardio health AND losing fat!! There isn't a single downside to exercising regularly and vigorously. Scale be damned- as the others have said, make friends with your tape measure. I have yet to buy a pair of pants that have a weight requirement on the tag, but they darn sure have a waist size requirement Keep on keepin' on! ~Brook

| Dieting makes you lose weight on the scale. Adding exercise can slow or stop weight loss, but may speed fat loss. Exercise builds muscle and tones you, so you may GAIN a little muscle weight. Fat/weight loss makes the scale go down and makes you look good in clothes. Exercise makes you look hot nekkid and/or in a bikini. I want to look hot more then I want the scale to go down... :P
