High cholesterol and atkins???????

well here i am having been on the atkins diet for 4 days now.....and my nurse calls with results of recent lab work. she says i have high cholesterol and should avoid meats/eggs butter!
at 33 years old i am terrified of heart disease; but want to stay on atkins!!!!!!!!!!
does anyone have any experience with this?

My cholesterol PLUMMETED after being on Atkins for about 6 months. Go read in the Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure forum of the successes people have had with lowering their cholesterol and blood pressure eating MEAT and FAT!!!

Hi Suzie, my name is Sherri and I've been on Atkins for three years on the seventh of july. When I started this woe I weighed 374 lbs. My cholesterol was out the window along with my other lipids. My doctor put me on Atkins because if I didn't, I was looking at a early check out time. I had Type-2 diabetes, High blood pressure. After eating on this woe for 48 days my diabetes went away and I no longer required medication. Also my lipids(cholesterol, LDL,Triglycerides, dropped dramaticly! After 10 months I no longer required medication for my blood pressure because it too stabalized. I've lost 120 lbs. and I am in the best health that I've ever been in because of ATKINS.
