If you're seeing/feeling a different in your jeans, you're losing weight. Motivation comes from within and having your focus on the long term goal. Hang in there! It's worth it.

One thing I'm questioning is why you're on Induction (extended, I'm assuming) and eating nuts? I would suggest that you ditch the nuts and allow yourself to move up the OWL rungs one rung at a time. If you're looking for something "new" in your daily eating, the OWL rungs just might be the ticket if you're losing weight.

Stay focused on your exercise, water intake, and over all goal of a life style change!

Ditto what Apple said about the nuts... they come pretty soon in OWL and it sounds like you need to move there if you're needing other than induction foods.

Re the energy slump... are you eating enough? Taking your vits? Drinking plenty?

Dr. J -- ditto what Sally and apple said about moving up the rungs correctly. Not sure if in adding in nuts you've also increased your carb count, but that might be what your body needs.

As for finding the motivation, I think that's within yourself... I'd suggest reading the success stories on this board and visualize yourself at goal -- or milestones along the way. Make a list of the reasons you want to lose weight. But honestly, if you don't feel it from within, Atkins is too tough to manufacture it... you have to really WANT this!

Best of luck to you.

thats definately it Dr ,J -- you need a good multi vitamin (without iron if you can get it) I also take calcium( helps body burn fat as well as bone health). postassium and magnesium ( helps leg cramps) fish oil and vitamin C.
with the amount of water we drink you ned to replace all the minerals etc that gets washed out.. you will feel a huge difference once you start taking them.

Hi Dr. J,

I understand feeling unmotivated at 4 weeks. I felt the same way. I am a second time arounder and visit that forum daily. It is most certainly a white knuckle ride for you right now. I was stalled (or something) for 3 weeks and kept reading this board and trying to learn more about myself and my reasons for my attitude and behavior.

It is difficult at 4 weeks because the newness has worn off and the weight loss slows some. Just know that if you stick with it you WILL get the hang of it and it will become second nature. You will feel better. The weight WILL come off.

I think the biggest thing I have learned my "second time around" is patience. And now that I have patience I am looking forward to meeting my goal (whether it takes 3 months or 3 years). I will not stop taking care of myself and derail the work I have done and I plan on being around on this board next year. I hope you can stick with it because the plan works if you work the plan.

Hang in there!
