| You don't need any Atkins products. In fact, you probably shouldn't use them. Stick to fresh veggies and meats and cheeses. No shakes, no bars. Really! They will stall your weight gain. As for Sødemiddelgranulat, I did an internet search and saw it in several recipes. I think that it would be what we call Splenda. A sweetener that has no carbs and is made from sugar. I don't know what it would be called in Denmark. |

| Welcome to the board, Bauer! I personally do not use any commercial low-carb products. While a preference for these is one thing, please bear in mind that they are not a requirement for Atkins.

| I get my sister in law to send me Splenda from the UK. I can't get it in Italy. I can get liquid saccharin though which is zero carbs. Maybe you can get that in Denmark too. There are a few products I order from the UK (have trouble with customs from USA) from Low Carb Megastore (if you google it, you'll get the link)... such as shiritaki noodles and Dreamfields pasta (which I eat rarely though)... and stuff like Thickn Thin Not Starch, which is useful. It costs a lot to have stuff sent by courrier, so I have a large pack sent all in one go.

Sheila is right though... you don't really need any of this stuff... good natural and fresh foods are the way to go.

| Thanks for the replies. The only thing I realy would like to have is bake mix, but in Denmark they also suggest that you can use soya flour and that I have found. So I will stick with that until I am alowed to use it. It is nice to hear that you can live without - and I will go for that. About the sødemiddelgranulat I will go and by something and se if it works. For now I just have som sweatener which is liquid som that is available in Denmark. And nice to find out what Splenda is ! I have one more question. Before Atkins I eat a lot of yougurt 10 % fat. (greek) I can't find it anyware in the book - do you know if it is allowed on induction or the second face? I know yougurt is band but I thougt that it might be okey because of the high fat %. hi again Stine |

| The greek yogurt is great once you get to the dairy rung of OWL but not during induction.

Here on ADBB we refer to these different groups - like vegetables, dairy, nuts, berries and so on - as being 'rungs' following his analogy of the list being a ladder, which has rungs.
