| I'm sure others who are experts can weigh in on this, but from what I've heard and read, you should really stay away from the atkins bars and atkins foods like you mentioned, at least until pre-maintenance. I know those types of products casue stalls and even weight gain for many people. Alos, you really have to follow the WOE to the tee, just like Dr. Atkins outlines it. This is the only way that you can lose weight effectively, and learn how your body racts to carb levels and certain foods. It sounds ike you might need to change your mindset a little bit. Look at all the success stories on this board. Most people didn't reach their goals by satrying too much from Dr. Atkins plan. |

| I am afraid runnwme is right. Ultimately, the goal is to have you eating unprocessed healthy foods. Aren't the bars and shakes and other sweet goodies what have gotten us to this place after all? We want to move away from "junk food" and trust me, coming from a previous junk food addict, it is possible! And it is empowering. I am happy to say that food no longer controls me, I control what I eat. The Atkins diet foods are not out there to help us lose weight and stay on the plan, but to make money for the Atkins Corporate monster. Dr. Atkins suggested them as a last resort at best. They are EXPENSIVE, tend to stall weight loss, and create cravings for what we should NOT eat. First, follow induction exactly for 14 days. You will not believe the wonderful changes you will see in yourself. If you chose to after a successful induction, move on to the First Rung of OWL. These are chemical changes that will occur in your body. Treat it like a scientific experiment. Dr. Atkins knew what he was talking about! Visit here and post often. There is a wealth of good information and supportive people who have gone through exactly what you are going to do and will help you every step of the way! |

| I am having good sucess with the Atkins bars...I eat one of the "Morning" bars most days for breakfast since I am not an egg fan at all and eat on the run. While it might not be the ideal food, it is a good option for me and I have been losing right at 2 pounds a week for the past 5 weeks...To answer the OP question....I find the bars at Walmart...near the pharmacy....not sure about the other products tho. |
