| just dont do it! its probably water retention and it will more than likely be gone over the next coupla days anyway... youve done fantastic losing 13lbs already! what are your reasons for doing extended induction rather than moving to OWL?

| that is most likely water weight...you would not gain 3lbs of fat in a day. Could be from sodium, it's usually quite high in fast food. I would jsut keep going and pick up where you left off. keep up the exercise and the water intake, and you will be fine.

| I agree it's just water weight. Every time I eat a plain fast foods burger i go POOF. I'd just drink a little extra water with a squeeze of lemon in it to flush it out. Do you enjoy asparagus? That has diuretic properties.

| I agree, the meat is probably really high in salt! Water, water, water... and eat something healthy like extra veggies... liz |

| You've got a lot of great advise and words of wisdom already....just wanted to say hang in there. I could gain weight the next day just be eating roast beef the night before. Sometimes the food itself can weigh in on the scale until it passes through the body. Keep your focus and see what happens.. I'm just as curious as Emma...have you thought about moving up the OWL rungs? |

| Sounds like water retention. Just keep eating like you normally do, no need to fast. I wouldn't, anyway. |

| I agree. Do some extra exercise and up the water. Doing Atkins doesn't mean punishing yourself if you make a mistake. (Fasting would be a form of punishment and defeat the purpose of learning to enjoy this wol) One thing I did was make a list of the fast food places around my area and write out what choices I'd have if I went there -- get lists of carb/calories/ingredients on the items so I could be fully educated if I ever chose to eat there. This is a life-style change, you learn as you go. Every day we learn more about our bodies, the way foods affect us and what to eat and not eat on the program.

| All good advice in this thread. Up the water and watch the salt for the next few days and all should be well. Fasting isn't a good idea. You should start going up the rungs. That's key to a successful WOL on this plan. The first shouldn't be all that tough since it's just the veggie rung. |
