| maybe its a lotion you're wearing? I know when I wear sunless tanners I think I smell like something horrible but nobody else seems to notice. (or so they say! lol I guess it could be ketosis making you seep ickies out of your pores... ?

| I notice that sometimes when I do some serious cardio, my sweat smells like ammonia - I looked it up and it has something to do with the way the body processes (or burns) protein during exercise. My trainer told me a while ago that if you take fish oil, sometimes, the fishy odor can seep out of your pores. Good luck! |

| Definitely could be something you ate coming through your pores-strong spices like cumin, or foods like garlic or onions can do that. If you think it smells like old, sour oil, you might consider what your dietary fat sources are. If you eat a lot of processed fats, like mayo, it might be the oils are rancid when you eat them ( I have read that a lot of supermarket type mayo and cooking oils are actually rancid, but have been deodorized so we don't notice). How about pork rinds? A lot of times I can smell a nasty, old smell when opening a bag of fried snack food. The ketosis smell does not necessarily have to be limited to your breath--it comes from inside of you as does sweat and BO odors. It is *possible* what you smell is related. I agree with drinking lots of water. I read once somewhere that someone had suggested adding some fresh lemon juice to the water to help deodorize the ketosis aroma. Liquid chlorophyll is supposed to help with neutralizing bad body odors. No definite answers, but maybe something to consider |

| I originall read your note here a few days back before I had an account so I've been pondering this since then... it struck me last night that perhaps it might actually be something about the mucous in the nose itself. If no one else can smell it, then perhaps it's actually IN your nose. I have no idea what that could be but I do know that a variety of bacteria live in our noses, including staph. Even a small change in its chemical enviornment could change its lifecycle and produce some new smell. Ditto for me on the amonia smell... I always smell that in the shower when I wash my hair after workouts.
