| push through. You can do it. You just remember that once you get past the induction flu the weight melts off and your energy goes through the roof. I'd say that during the first month you could possibly lose between 10-15 lbs. maybe more. It all depends on your level of commitment, your exercise and your positive attitude.

| Make sure you're eating the 20 carbs! Too many people try to cut out ALL carbs. Can't do that! Get those 20 carbs in! Preferably vegetables. Find and check out the Veggie Challenges here to get the skinny on it all... And GO GET 'EM!! |

| it also helps to time your start with a few days off or a holiday so you can have your induction flu without the stress of having to go to work etc. THen you can just take it easy and ride it out . Once you get past those few days you will feel great!!

| You can expect to lose between 5-10% of the total amount of weight you need to lose during induction. Less than that is an indication of metabolic resistance. More than that is a gift. From there, a reasonable expectation for *healthy* weight loss is 1-2lbs a week. That's standard on every WOE. Know that even though 1-2lbs a week is a fair and reasonable expectation, weight loss is not a linear process. There will be weeks when you drop remarkable amounts of weight and there will be weeks were you drop nothing. So long as the general trend is down, you're good to go. Be sure to take your measurements. There will be plenty of times when you are not rewarded by the scale but the inches will be moving and in the big picture, it's the inches that count. Don't lose sight of that! Be sure to arrange your schedule so that you can get plenty of sleep for your first few days of induction while you detox. If your experience with it tells you you're gonna feel like crap, well then..be prepared. Drink tons of water, be sure you're taking your supplements and make sure you are eating the majority of your carbs in veggies. Stay away from low-carb junk food. If it's not on the Allowed Foods List for Induction- it doesn't cross your lips. No exceptions. No excuses. You can do this. You really can. The only way it's gonna get done is if you do it...so do it! "The chief cause of failure is trading what we want most for what we want at the moment." Ask lots of questions. Be sure to take the time to read through all the Sticky posts (pinned to the top of each forum.) Read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and then read it again. If you have a question about menu ideas/products/ect - be sure to use the search feature. You will find instant comprehensive answers and opinions on just about everything you can think of! Start a journal. Get a fitday.com account and USE it. Write out your goals. You're gonna do famously if you decide to! I wish you success. ~Brook

| luvs i know the feelin all to well.I tried so many times to get past induction and could'nt but decided to give it a go again and i did not really get the induction flu.I think what really helped is eating all my veggies.Do not just eat meat and cheese and lettuce.Experiment with your veggies and measure them.I truly eat all my 3 cups of veggies a day.I think it realy has helped me and i am on day 9 of induction and feel great.I hope this helps. And i asked this same question before about how to get past induction and some people say to have tylenol handy and take hot bubble baths.anyways hope this helps.
