| I don't know if dizzy is the right word for what I experience but when I drink a lot of water in one short time span especially first thing in the morning I get nauseaus (sp) It takes a good 15-20 minutes for the feeling to pass ........ occasionally I still do it but for the most part I know well wnough now to relax and drink slowly letting my dehydrated morning self adjust to the new days fluid levels .......... No help I know but possibly similar? Heidi

It happens to me if I drink water too fast (like a lot in a short period of time).... I feel really wierd and almost a drunk feeling. For me it only happens with water... other drinks (ok besides wine & beer) don't affect me the same way. I did notice that it's with cooler water vs warmer water - but I'm not a big warm water drinker - heck I'm not a big water drinker (it's not my drink of choice)

Chica - that's it exactly! It's usually cold water, unless I drink it really fast and then anything can do it. I wonder if the cold water restricts blood flow. I have been pounding water, splenda lemonade and unsweetened mint tea all day and I am positively loopy - though it started with the water and I think has just been buoyed along by the latter beverages.

There is something called Water Intoxication. Which happens if you drink too much water. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication Now before I'm responsible for hordes of panicky people evacuating the town they live in. I don't think you'll be drinking that much water, for this to occur. Still, you some people do. http://darkzero.co.uk/v4/games/news/...st-kills-woman

Goodness - I am not that badly off. Just a little dizzy. At the hospital where I used to work, I had the "pleasure" of treating a convict who had tried to commit suicide by drinking water. He very nearly succeeded. We had to take his blood hourly to monitor his electrolytes, which were being pumped in intravenously. I had never seen so many IV bags (I think I counted 7) in one patient.

Don't know if this is the reason or not, but could it be that the blood is rushing to your stomach to "warm up" the cold water? So you feel light headed? Somewhere I read that drinking cold water burns more calories than warm water because your body has to warm it up first to digest it. And they tell you to give an over-heated person tepid water to drink because cold water will cause cramps. Just my 2 cents. I may be totally off.
