| Stop knocking yourself down, your trying hard, the errors youve made are the most common and the only way to solve it is to read the labels on every piece of food you buy. I'm in the UK too, you're right, its not AS easy here to get hold of snacky stuff, but we're probably better off in the way that we'll eat fresh more wholesome foods as theres nothing to buy as a convenience. Sliced turkey dices - have you checked the sugar on these? Eggs with tuna is fine, are you scrambling these with heavy cream? Milk isnt allowed. Your salads look fine but again its the contents on that turkey you need to look at. when you have a salad what are you putting in it? are you using your veggie allowance each day?? 2 cups of "salad" veggies and one cup of "other"? Lettuce is like water, if thats all your having you need to change one of your cups to maybe brocolli or cauliflower, you need some nutrients!! Do you need that much protein in your dinner? are you eating til your satisfied or eating just to eat whats on your plate? fat is very filling, if i ate that allowance of cheese in one go it would be a good few hours before i wanted to eat again and your eating that cheese with your dinner. If you're hungry then. theres other ways of getting this right. Boiled egg as a snack is fine, you could also try spreading your cheese out a bit and having an ounce of cheese somewhere throughout the day rather than just at dinner. You dont NEED to eat that full amount of cheese a day, that is your MAXIMUM, so you can do, but dont feel that you have too. Mayonaise - generally most of our stores are okay IF you buy the full fat version, my favourite is sainsburys french mayonaise, but if hellmans is all you can find, thats fine! Did i miss anything? anything else you need help with? Have you looked at this site yet for recipes? its fantastic! www.genaw.com/lowcarb

| As for the exercise why dont you start out small, commit yourself to some squats & push ups & abs in the challenges over in the exercise forum? all from the comfort and warmth of your living room.

| HI Emma, Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it. The turky is just turkey pieces they normally diced up, as you would buy chicken breasts or turkey breasts in tescoes, its the same, its not processed so I don't think there is any sugar in there, but I will double check on that I'm not using any milk to make the scrambled eggs, i use a bit of olive oil or i beat up two eggs and salt and water and put it in a plastic dish and i microwave that and turns into an omlet it gets all fluffy as a perfect omlet, minus the butter and milk i dont normally buy butter, even wen im not dieting i dont eat it, not that i dont like it, i do like it, but i never buy it. I'll look at sainsbury's coz the mayonaise at tescoes, even the fullfat ones i looked at had a lot of cars in, so im not sure i havent seen any mayo with 0 carbs. so i tend to use vinegar and olive oil and salt as my dressing. the only salads i have througout the day is at lunch and dinner, i have 230 g a day and i divide that over lunch and dinner, which consists of mushrooms, green/red peppers, celery and lettuce, occasionally some tomatoes, but i might add spinach. also would the avo snack count as part of the salad allowance for the day? i tend to have the chop at night, i dont really have fat throgout the day and im not sure on dinner ideas but thanks ill take a look at some of those receipes thanks for your advice |

| Also pick up a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition. Atkins has been so misrepresented over the years, that some people swear it's only eating meat, eggs, cheese and a little bit of lettuce. So pick up a copy or borrow one from the public library and read it. That's the best thing you can do for yourself at this point.

| you'll never find mayo with no carbs, i think mine has 2 per 100g thats completely guessing, as i'm at work at the moment and cant look, i dont think ive seen any with less than 2g. Butter is a must have, cook your meats in it, fat is your friend, the more fat i eat, the more weight i lose! I see you're using the UK version of the book, yes that makes sense, but the measurements in there are kinda off, and not what we go by on this board. you could do with getting yourself a "cup" measure - i got mine from Ikea its so much easier to fill them up and ensure your getting the right amount, you also need differentiate between the types of veggies your having and the amounts as i said earlier, two cups of salad veggies and one cup of "other veggies" No the avocado is seperate though should be limited to half per day you'll find a lot of dinner ideas at that site, i often make mockafoni cheese or mashed cauliflower, sauteed onions mushrooms and green beans, much nicer than a piece of lettuce!

| About the mayo....have you ever considered making your own? If you're in good health and can get FRESH preferable organic eggs all you need is an egg yolk (save the white part to scramble etc) and some Olive Oil and bit of lemon. Takes just a few seconds in a food processor. |
