Question could some of you lovely people give me more advice please, am i eating okay?

hi everyone
Hope you dont mind me posting this here, i suppose I should post it in the induction section, but i presume all newbies would be checking out the induction section, and I was hoping to ask the advice from all you experienced fabulous looking atkiners, I'm really depressed about my weight at the moment.

I was on this other diet designed by a cardiologist years ago and i lost so much weight, and it crept back on rather quickly, and plus wen i stopped smoking earlier this year i blew up grrr

so now im smoking again with a ton of weight on

wen i feel down i eat i guess, i was doing well this week after stuffing up this weekend...and then i looked at the ingrediants on the pork rhind packet as my previous thread.....been to the shops looked for pork rhind, and the only ones they have is carb filled, same as the mayonaise aargh
maybe the UK just loves carbs in evertyhing

oh well i'v stuffed up once again, just finding out bout the carbs in the pork rhind, iv messed up with carbs and chocolate, i did that too the other day wen i read pepper had a lot of carbs

so since im gonna have a crappy xmas on my own, and waiting for my boyfriend from canada, im gonnna start induction tomorrow till the 9th of january wen my boyfriend arrives, i gotta shed sum weight before he comes which is making me more depressed.

ok to cut a long story short, sorry bout the waffling

but i need advice

this is what i generally eat on induction

tell me wat im doing wrong

Breakfast:
2 eggs, either scrambled with tuna
or sliced turkey dices, i alternate on days

Lunch
smoked mackeral fish with salad
vinegar and olive oil

or i have diced turkey with salad

i dont have snacks during the day and after work thats wen i tend to get nibbly at work i find it easiest to diet, and battle over the weekends as i live on my own and its crap

anyway so at night

Dinner
one lamb chop
and two small burger pattys
salad, vinegar and olive oil
and my 90 g allowance of cheese

wen i grill the chop and burger pattys it tends to be really fatty even grilled, and i melt cheese over that, which is a lot of cheese, the daily allowance on induction, so i guess tahts where im getting my fat for ketosis boosting

so wat am i doing wrong
i wont be having pork rhinds no more coz of the carb content

is my way of eating on induction ok for weight loss?

oh yeah after work i do have a boiled egg as a snack

or a piece of salmon with a bit of full fat cream cheese

hope someone could advise me ???
Thanks

to sum it up

i have 2-3 eggs a day
the salad allowance which consists of lettuce, celery, peppers nd musrhooms
meat or fish
and olive oil and vinegar
and cheese from the allowance

i hope all this is okay for induction, oh and im not exercising, when i get back from work im so tired and i got to do alot for the next day
and then its so cold and dark the last thing i want to do is jump around
sigh i guess i have to do some exercise but battling to even start

Stop knocking yourself down, your trying hard, the errors youve made are the most common and the only way to solve it is to read the labels on every piece of food you buy.

I'm in the UK too, you're right, its not AS easy here to get hold of snacky stuff, but we're probably better off in the way that we'll eat fresh more wholesome foods as theres nothing to buy as a convenience.

Sliced turkey dices - have you checked the sugar on these?
Eggs with tuna is fine, are you scrambling these with heavy cream? Milk isnt allowed.

Your salads look fine but again its the contents on that turkey you need to look at.

when you have a salad what are you putting in it? are you using your veggie allowance each day?? 2 cups of "salad" veggies and one cup of "other"?
Lettuce is like water, if thats all your having you need to change one of your cups to maybe brocolli or cauliflower, you need some nutrients!!

Do you need that much protein in your dinner? are you eating til your satisfied or eating just to eat whats on your plate? fat is very filling, if i ate that allowance of cheese in one go it would be a good few hours before i wanted to eat again and your eating that cheese with your dinner.

If you're hungry then. theres other ways of getting this right.

Boiled egg as a snack is fine, you could also try spreading your cheese out a bit and having an ounce of cheese somewhere throughout the day rather than just at dinner.

You dont NEED to eat that full amount of cheese a day, that is your MAXIMUM, so you can do, but dont feel that you have too.

Mayonaise - generally most of our stores are okay IF you buy the full fat version, my favourite is sainsburys french mayonaise, but if hellmans is all you can find, thats fine!

Did i miss anything? anything else you need help with?

Have you looked at this site yet for recipes? its fantastic!

As for the exercise why dont you start out small, commit yourself to some squats & push ups & abs in the challenges over in the exercise forum?

all from the comfort and warmth of your living room.

HI Emma,
Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it.
The turky is just turkey pieces they normally diced up, as you would buy chicken breasts or turkey breasts in tescoes, its the same, its not processed so I don't think there is any sugar in there, but I will double check on that

I'm not using any milk to make the scrambled eggs, i use a bit of olive oil or i beat up two eggs and salt and water and put it in a plastic dish and i microwave that and
turns into an omlet it gets all fluffy as a perfect omlet, minus the butter and milk
i dont normally buy butter, even wen im not dieting i dont eat it, not that i dont like it, i do like it, but i never buy it.

I'll look at sainsbury's coz the mayonaise at tescoes, even the fullfat ones i looked at had a lot of cars in, so im not sure i havent seen any mayo with 0 carbs.
so i tend to use vinegar and olive oil and salt as my dressing.

the only salads i have througout the day is at lunch and dinner, i have 230 g a day and i divide that over lunch and dinner, which consists of
mushrooms, green/red peppers, celery and lettuce, occasionally some tomatoes, but i might add spinach.
also would the avo snack count as part of the salad allowance for the day?

i tend to have the chop at night, i dont really have fat throgout the day and im not sure on dinner ideas but thanks ill take a look at some of those receipes

thanks for your advice

Also pick up a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition. Atkins has been so misrepresented over the years, that some people swear it's only eating meat, eggs, cheese and a little bit of lettuce. So pick up a copy or borrow one from the public library and read it. That's the best thing you can do for yourself at this point.

i have taht book, and there is no menu in the induction section
which i think lacks coz i have no idea if im eating enough fat to reach ketosis, or my portion sizes of meat okay

stuff like that

and about the exercise, yeah ill start doing that, and walking i guess, i know i gotta do it

can anyone give me an example of wat to eat on induction on one day like a sample breakfast lunch and dinner plan?

you'll never find mayo with no carbs, i think mine has 2 per 100g thats completely guessing, as i'm at work at the moment and cant look, i dont think ive seen any with less than 2g.

Butter is a must have, cook your meats in it, fat is your friend, the more fat i eat, the more weight i lose!

I see you're using the UK version of the book, yes that makes sense, but the measurements in there are kinda off, and not what we go by on this board. you could do with getting yourself a "cup" measure - i got mine from Ikea its so much easier to fill them up and ensure your getting the right amount, you also need differentiate between the types of veggies your having and the amounts as i said earlier, two cups of salad veggies and one cup of "other veggies"

No the avocado is seperate though should be limited to half per day

you'll find a lot of dinner ideas at that site, i often make mockafoni cheese or mashed cauliflower, sauteed onions mushrooms and green beans, much nicer than a piece of lettuce!

About the mayo....have you ever considered making your own? If you're in good health and can get FRESH preferable organic eggs all you need is an egg yolk (save the white part to scramble etc) and some Olive Oil and bit of lemon. Takes just a few seconds in a food processor.
