| "Restricting carbs keeps insulin levels low, which lowers your internal production of fat and allows more of the fat you do eat to be burned for energy." I was trying to explain this the other day! and this says it so well... great article. liz |

| Great article except that about 98% of that is straight from Taubes Book. Should the writer give him some credit? Amazing that it is on MSNBC.

| Sally I don't have too much problem with that except that in a few paragraphs this article is word for word (or very close) to Taubes. I went back and read it again. Much of it could be just the same information. And the last couple of paragraphs are clearly not Taubes. I guess I have started thinking Taubes ownes all that info. And when every piece of information in the first 3 pages was also in Taubes book the easy conclusion is that it came from Taubes.

| I figure that they are probably working off the same information. Either way, to me the important part is that it is making it into the public consciousness a little. It takes years of repeatedly throwing information in the establishment's face before it starts to take notice, and doesn't dismiss it as a fad. |

| Good article, thank you. Seeing as a low carb diet has been around since at least the late 1800's, you would think that the scientific community might finally get some REAL answers, not half-arsed studies. Maybe with enough noise...... Anyway, it's nice to see it in the mainstream media |
