| Betsy, I must agree. I too work at a school and the Career Center is covered with goodies. Oh, and to top it all off, my secret santa has been putting all kinds of treats in my box every day. I had thought about writing a note in my box and saying something like this: "Dear Secret Santa, Thank you so much for the presents, however, I do not eat sweets and you shouldn't either. I'll take the christmas cards, bows, and even the pretty boxes, but not the candy. Merry Christmas to you too!" But then I thought, " I better not!" LMOF

It was like Willy Wonka vs Dunkin Donuts. And since I've been in a foul mood already....it's not even after Christmas blues, yet, I had a moment I almost reached and then decided to just choose not to. I walked...rather....walked really fast since running in the halls is not allowed (even for parents lol) away. Ugh....choosing not to was just the hardest thing, but I didn't want to feel or look the way some of those folks were/had to be...zoombie-eyed, proud that they'll start their NY Resl Jan 1st, off their diet for today, etc.. | Great post, Betsy. Of course, that woman was jealous. You very nicely didn't mention her size, but I'd have to bet she wasn't tiny herself. Problem is, I think the Grinch has invaded my body. I need a Grinch-orcism.

| Betsy, loved the post! I'm steering clear of the work room these days, too many treats! I've come across a lot of Grinches this season, saying "Oh, have a little, it's Christmas" and other such nonsense. I even had a friend tell me I'd "better watch out for that Atkins diet, it's dangerous" as I sat there eating a plate full of fresh veggies and dip. Yeah. I just sort of laugh and smile at these people, they have no clue. And usually they're telling me how it's OK to eat whatever the food is, all while assuring me that it's healthy, while they scarf down cookies, chocolates, donuts, and white bread like it's going out of style, and then wonder why they gain 10 pounds every holiday?

| Great post. I had one person at work who said I just had to try this, and I smiled and said no thanks, and then they remembered and was like "just chew and spit it back out." I couldn't do anything but laugh. That sounds so cool to have someone say to you "GOD you look SKINNY."
